Prostitution in Canadared_smile

I read in the internet that prostitution is legal in Canada but not the brothels and pimps etc. it sees. I am confused. Does that mean if I see an Independent escort, I am never in LE trouble in Canada. If I do an out-call rather than an in-call, I will never be in trouble right since all brothels are in-calls. Excuse me if this was discussed/answered. I did searched for it and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am a newbie and never visited any escort. Now wants to try out but I want to make sure that I never get into legal troubles because of this. I am planning to visit Montreal for a business trip. So thinking that I can have some fun while I am there. I know in US, they have all these sting operations etc., do they have those in Canada also? If it is legal anyway, why there should be any sting operations?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Is it as simple as looking-up for an escort agency online and making a phone call to book the girl that you like? Is there anything that I need to worry from police/LE perspective.

Thanks

At this time hiring an independent escort on an outcall basis is not against the law. Agencies themselves are not legal (section 212 Canadian Criminal Code), but that means it is criminal to own and/or work for them - not for using them as a client.

Incalls are illegal under section 210 of the Canadian Criminal Code - Keeping or Being Found in a Common Bawdy House.

However, there was a Supreme Court ruling this past December that deemed these laws unconstitutional. They are still on the books but most LE is not enforcing them into a new law is put into effect - which must be done by December of this year.

My boss, is planning on opening BunnyRanch brothels in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto.

I hope all goes through because BunnyRanch is a lot of fun!
