Look, I really dislike Roll Tide, but they are going to embarrass A+M today.
Bama had Manziel figured out in the second half and A+M just barely managed to hang on. And, A+M's defense is worse this year if that is possible.
Only way A+M wins is a replay of last year, but they have to score even more in that first quarter: drop 3-4 TD's early and hold on. But that offense can't play ball control, which means the defense will get gassed...
Man, I feel for any Bama defensive player that comes out flat that first quarter...
I like bama today, they are clearly the most talented team in the country, and im not sure there is anyone near them in that area. but if pressed, I could talk myself into a&m straight up, easily if just betting the spread. im not a gambling pro, so maybe im wrong here, I don't know.
athletic qbs win in the ncaa. tim tebow. cam newton. rg3. Michael vick. a few championships, a title game loss, 3 heismans, tons of wins. manziel is the one qb in the country that can beat a top team by himself. the bama I saw against VT 2 weeks ago wouldn't beat any good team. they looked worse on both sides of the ball.
I'll go out on a limb and say bama wins, 31-27
A+M came out and surprised Bama and had an absolutely incredible 10 minutes and three drives. That was damn near 50% of their total yardage right there. I just don't see that happening again. If A+M runs them off the field in the first 10 min again, Saban's head will explode.
I just don't think A+M has the defense to come back or go toe to toe with Bama's big boys...
no arguing the a&m defense needs to figure out what every other SEC defense knows about playing 24-17 games, not 52-42 games week after week.
but, 9 points proved to be too much. hell, if not for that fluky pick six bouncing off of a helmet right to the best return man on the bama defense...a&m wins.
johnny made one bad decision, and that 7 points off the board really hurt too, vut his teammates let him down. the defense giving up 49. mike evans on that offensive PI call. and the ref that threw the flag ON THE GUY WITH NO HELMET BECAUSE A BAMA GUY RIPPED IT OFF, he should be stoned and hanged before he gets out of college station.

I saw the game the other way around! Replay of last year but Bama kept it close in the first half and then just wore A+M out with the run. They were killing them! End of the 2nd, the 3rd and all but the last bit of the 4th was Bama kicking ass. Bama is just bigger faster and stronger and shoving that load just gassed A+M. That should have been a 3 td victory for Bama. But, that rb fumbled the ball on the goal line and then the defense lost it's mind and Manziel is very very very good...
The Bama defense made so many mistakes and damn near every break went Manziel's way. Even he couldn't believe the luck he was having! At least two A+M td's were thread the needle passes that get through maybe 60% of the time...
I did like how A+M tried the VT load the box defense. Didn't work for them, VT's defensive co-ordinator is a genius after all, but it can work for almost every other SEC team...

yeah, there were some tough passes he made, but good qbs make those throws. we aren't talking about mark sanchez here lol. both teams scored some lucky tds, but a&m lost 7 easy points on an endzone int, and gave bama 7 on the pick 6. easy to see how the game could have been 49-42 the other way.
either way, great, fun game, and I hope johnny stays another year and we get one more classic.
