Brick and mortar stores are fast disappearing from their traditional locations, shopping malls. Online giant Amazon is taking most of their business. Big retailers like Macy*s and JCP have online stores but cannot compete with Amazon in prices.
These jobs are gone for good and will not come back. To prepare for the jobs of the future, IT and Web design and development, people need to go and get educated and acquire these skills. For companies like Amazon and big banks, insurance companies it is easy to ship "work" and not necessarily "jobs" overseas and get it done at 20% of the cost of hiring people, if they can find the qualified ones.
