I can understand half-wit TwoBits questioning the quote...

...but you?  It''s obvious that the quote was not real and was made up as a joke at Trump's expense.  If you read the article you'd see this: "...the chancellor took it calmly and will not respond to such provocations."

There are many things for which you can criticize the OP...this isn't one of them.

for 300 Billion pounds towards NATO protection!    Chancellor Merkel was smart not to accept it.    She instead told the Clown "we will pay when you pay all your thousands of contractors and pay your taxes to the IRS and release your tax returns".   LMAO.

He is making a fool of himself and dragging this country along with him.

It's not in the article you linked.

And it says she took the invoice. Right in the article.

I really think that you post this because you think it gets to those that aren't liberal. It doesn't.  Is it a cry for help?

He needs help...mental tops the list. After that it's reading writing and reading comprehension.

Can't you righty retards differentiate a joking comment from reality?    The Clown giving the invoice is news item (link provided), and the German Chancellor's response is the joke!

Guys grow up.

First that really wasn't news, it's routine business between two nations.

Perhaps you should grow up, and let your sense of humor mature in the process.

Do you think you are a late night talk show host?

News does not need to be followed by a joke.

He's the only one who thinks that, of course he's the only one here who does a lot of things that no one else does.

and do you dispute the Germans debt for their share of NATO defense?

Three hundred billion here and three hundred billion there and the next thing you know, we are talking some real money.

If you come to think of it even what I put it out as a joke is actually real.   There are hundreds of lawsuits against the Clown from contractors he has stiffed and not paid their bills.    Then his tax returns.   He is hiding mountains of intrigue about what he pays, his connections to Russia and the KGB are all out in the open and being investigated.

Yes, the righty retards just cannot their hide their ignorance.

You really should know better.  What Donnie The Dunce was referring to is the amount of German under-spending on its defense budget over the years, beneath what it had committed to NATO to spend.  But it doesn't "owe" this amount to NATO, let alone the US.
And there really IS a legitimate issue here because the US is bearing an undue burden as a result.  But Germany actually is less of a problem here than most other NATO countries, which are even further from meeting their defense obligations.  So if you want to have a debate, don't distort what the core issue is.

The US has more stake in NATO than the European countries.    It was a US creation during the cold war days.    It became obsolete after Berlin wall came down and East Berlin was liberated.    This is not something like Al Capone demanding money from shopkeepers for protection.    The US disproportionately spends money on defense at the expense of helping its own people especially when it comes to health care, life saving medicines, retraining obsolete workforce, maintaining infrastructure and making higher education affordable.    European countries are in a different situation, spend more money taking care of its people by guaranteeing basic things as health care, unemployment relief, many programs for working women and retirement income and benefits.    They also spend more money on public transportation making it easy for their people to get to work and other mobility instead spending money on cars and gas.  In Germany for example most colleges are tuition free.    They are not willing to divert the money from these programs in to military build up.   The US was in a better position to recover from the worst economic collapse in 2008 than many European countries.   The list goes on and on.

If US keeps demanding these countries to care less for their people and spend more of their limited resources on military build up, it will be a slow death for NATO.
