I know there are several here calling us to give Trump time to make things right, however, it's not looking promising. His second attempt at a travel ban is being blocked. Republicans can't come up with an ACA replacement, they do not want to pay to build Trump's beautiful wall, nor are they enamored with his budget. The longer his approval rating is in the toilet, the hard it will be to get it out! ;)

Don't get caught up in the posturing. Do you not remember the doom and gloom people where talking about when Dem pro-lifers held off of backing Ocare? How did that turn out?  

Same thing here. Both the moderate wing and the far right wing will compromise and come together with law(s) neither one will agree with 100% but enough for them to back as the downside would lead to their destruction.

His approval rating is more than high enough to get what he needs and most of what he wants. Don't get lulled into the Dem doom and gloom. That is their hope, not their prediction.

Do you really think the R's will all sink themselves on HC? You think they won't end up approving the budget? You don't think there will be a "wall" of a "barrier" or whatever else you want to call it?

Now that does NOT mean they will create great legislation. That is a separate matter.

But Matt is STILL coming from the perspective that Trump is a dictator and it will be "his way or the highway" and you know better than that.  

That just has never been Trump. He is out there virtually everyday saying he will negotiate this or that. He has done so his whole adult life.

Thats not to say the process won't be messy but what choice do the R's have? They are in agreement on 80-85% of the issues and the process JUST started.

I hope Dems aren't putting all their eggs in the "Republicans won't get shit done" basket as you are wise enough to know that is fools gold.

You seem quite optimistic with this Republican "Shotgun Wedding." ;)

I don't consider it "posturing" to say: "The longer his approval rating is in the toilet, the hard it will be to get it out." Correction: that should have been harder, as in more difficult.

And, yes I believe if Trump had his way he'd choose to be a dictator, autocrat, whatever. But, I've not pretended to know how this Shotgun Wedding will turn out. I've also said that I think Trump is the Republican Party's Trojan House, sent to the Republican voters. Once, he wins for them, they may very well kick him to the curb. I cannot predict if the Republican Congress will have the backbone to staunch his dictatorial urges, nor if he doesn't get his way with the Republican Congress, if his supports will go after them. But, I do have a very well stocked supply of popcorn on hand! ;)
