Stay at around Union square or SOMA.

Please ignore Tenderloin as it is an unsafe area.

Hello There,

Planning a little trip to SF and would love some thoughts on the best hotels for incalls.
I love the luxe-ness of some of the Nob Hill classics, but thought maybe Union Square is more universally convenient?

How important is location to SF hobbyists?

I know in NYC if you're not uptown/midtown, you're basically irrelevant.

I know we can't discuss specific hotels here, so if anyone would like to PM me with hot tips, I'd love it!
Roomy floor plans and big bathtubs score high!

Thanks!

Is staying Downtown in New York irrelevant too?

But the majority of business offices are based in midtown including many of the major banks, etc.
Many of the top international hotels are around here as well - Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, St Regis, etc  So that alone is a good indicator given their clientele.

I've had the occasional call to the Wall Street area or Soho/Tribecca, but it's so seldom in comparison to Midtown/Uptown that I try to make myself as accessible as possible by booking no lower than the Flatiron area unless a specific request is made in advance (for downtown).
