and the link takes me to CL, she will need more reviews from established hobbyists in order for me to venture there.

I am just starting out. And I wonder...is it worth it to try and establish yourself on craiglist?  I don't have a website.

Do serious hobbiests even go to CL?

TIA

There is no great shame getting your start on CL, in fact many established providers occasionally advertise on CL when their phones slow from TER and other higher tier advertising venues.
Many serious hobbyists regularly peruse the pages of CL, and many currently popular TER reviewed providers cut their teeth there.

The thing to remember about CL is that it is a rather undisciplined forum allowing a lack of protocols by both providers and hobbyists alike that are normally practiced and expected here. Many a recent graduate of CL will venture to TER and give away their alma-mater by posting in all CAPS and/or using all too many symbols (IE:&#@?*!! etc etc). Craigslist born hobbyists are often posting here in righteous indignation complaining about TER reviewed providers requiring 'screening' information from them.

Bye all means take advantage of the ‘FREE’ advertising and large demographic reached by CL; but stay a step ahead of the rabble by learning the simple, accepted etiquettes and security practices used here.

Tia,
For the most part, CL is not the way to go, although some ladies have done all right starting there.  It sorta depends on your area.  My area, Tampa, FL is not good for CL.

You might try getting an ad on EROS, Cityvibe, Provider Post, or Escorts.com.  CL has the rep among the hobbyists of being loaded with LE set-ups.

You can post an ad once a week here,  and your regional board is the best place for that.  Check other girls rates in your area by reading their profiles, or looking at their ads on the sites I mentioned.  This way you can set your rates so they will not be out of line in your area.  To get started you might want to go a little lower than the rest of the market, and raise rates as you get established.  If you do this, you may want to grandfather your first clients at your old rates.  This will help repeat business.

Good luck.

Tia, Craigslist (CL) has a bad rep to many TER members, and is considered to the online equivalent of the streets.  LE is omni-present there, as are many pimps, ROB's (rip-off bitches), and other risky elements. Yes, many serious hobbiests utilize CL looking for bargains, and diamonds in the rough.  Since you are just starting out, using CL may work in the beginning.  But, establishing yourself on TER, getting good reviews, etc.,  will probably work out better in the long run if you are serious in becoming a respected and successful provider.  A website of your own is essential...you should be looking for a developer who can build an elegent website ASAP. Good luck to you!

better to accept the suggestions of developing a quality website, then post on boards such as this; then deliver a quality experience (e.g. do not overbook appointments back to back, offer a non-rushed experience (5-10 minutes extra does wonders for your reputation, even if its just relaxed cuddling), use a clean/safe incall location that's easy to get to yet which accomadates discreet parking/entrance; always be clean/freshly showered; be enthusiastic in the appointment). if you do that, your reputaiton will grow with positive reviews.

Hi Tia! Many of us started on CL and show non the less for wear but others have had problems with LE and competion banging. I started on CL and still place ads from time to time. Most new reviews are from CL. Just be very careful as it is a very hot commodity right now and the free ad could cost you dearly.
As for you lack of a web page, problem solved. My web site was free and easy to set up. You will see my reviews next to my name. Please click there and you will go to my TER profile. You will see my webpage listed and you can click on it. Once you open my web page on the bottom of the front page is get a free web sit    rareescorts.com . You can set yourself up in a matter of an hour. Yes it is that easy and free ; no credit card needed. The reason I brought you to my profile is a short lesson on how easy it is to use TER.
Did I beat jazz to the welcome wagon ;-)

I started on CL and I stopped posting on the NY side because of LE, deal chasers and bargain hunters.

I post on CL still...but NOT in NY.

Just be careful.

Hi Tia!  Welcome to TER!

I am also a 'new' provider just working on making my presence known and getting word out!  The TER boards are a great place for advice as well as some friendly banter among providers and hobbyists.

The thing that TER and other such forums provide is moderation.  It's a great way to hopefully weed out the not-so-serious hobbyists which account for probably 90% of the CL users.  I admittedly use CL from time to time, but with caution.  I will post an ad for a few hours, maybe a day or so, and then pull it.  After a few hours, my inbox is usually pretty flooded!  My ads are always simple...a catchy title, a brief description (nothing vulgar or suggestive), and a request to email me anonymously through CL.  No pics! Then I can go through the messages and DELETE any that are specific, vulgar etc.  If a client can't handle proper etiquette at that point, it's simply not worth the time!  To the others, I will send a quick note with a link to my site.  Some are interested, others reply that it's too expensive, they can't get a hotel room...whatever.  The process of elimination continues!  I just try to use my best judgement.

But it is true that most of the providers on CL are not interested in providing much of a quality experience, at least not in my neck of the woods.  As a gentleman, the vulgar advertising and glittery graphics would not appeal to me unless all I wanted was a 1/2 hour hump-de-hump session.

I would advise to you as others have already to get a site up.  I used RARE to host mine...they have templates and free hosting to get you started.  It's not the greatest, but it does provide a nice place for folks to get to know you and see what you're about.  Pay for a TER VIP pass and get the logo on your front page.  Then you can post your site link in your messages and also read VIP reviews.  And if you choose to use CL, I recommend doing so with caution.  Just be smart!  You could end up being the proverbial "diamond in the rough" that the men are searching for!  I'd like to consider myself the sapphire in the rough.  lol

Good luck!

XO,
Stella
