I was able to retire at age 55 (now57). Haven't tried for prescreening because it always asks for work/office number. I don't work anymore and the place I did shut down and is no longer in my area. They still are in operation around the world but I am no longer an employee. Just living off penison and investments. What to do?? Is there any thing else they can use in place of work/office phone number. Thanks!
Be honest and tell providers that you're retired. Ask them what other bits of info they may want to feel secure. Should be no biggie.
I took a break from working, and was concerned about the same thing. I simply gave a few cell numbers to pick from; said that I was self employed, and all was well. I had a couple references, and that helped, but some didn't ask.
Just make sure that you can make the lady comfortable that you're not "the bad guy".
I've found that once I got started and had a couple known references, that the references have been far more important to recent providers I've seen than employment info.
