Yes, its true. It happened in 1982 at a concert in Iowa.
A fan threw a bat on stage, apparently, Ozzy thought it was rubber.
A lesser known tidbit is the bat also bit Ozzy and forced him to undergo treatment for prevention of rabies.

It's also true he once bit the head off a dove during a business meeting with record company executives.

But the craziest of all, imho, was when he snorted a line of live ants while on tour with Motley Crue in 1984.

Yes, he really WAS the Driver of the Crazy Train.

And the fact his lyrics from the seminal piece hold as much water today as in 1980 was what prompted me to post this originally.

... elsewhere, including the comments here on this board from all sides, from extreme to moderate centrist to downright stupid, I am becoming more and more convinced Ozzy "got it" way back when.

Tell me the lyrics aren't appropriate to today's burgeoning chaos.

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe. it's not too late
To learn how to love, and forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

I've listened to preachers,
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words, yeah, yeah

Heirs of a cold war,
That's what we've become
Inheriting troubles,
I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

Mr. Not-A-Yahoo just met Mr. Yahoo..all need now is Mortimer Snerd to complete the trifecta..

Tell me, did he really bite that bat's head off or was that just the fake news of its day? LOL

As you can proly tell, the snowflakes here get more enraged with every tweet and every Trump utterance. He rules their world and has them on the verge of a mental breakdown with all their paranoid hysteria and Hitler analogies.

One nugget from Ann Coulter has stayed with me. She says there are two groups in America that are obsessed about race. One is the KKK...

...and the other is liberals! LOL. So you see why Taffy stepped into dog shit yet again with his pointing out to us all that Bibi is white. LOL

What a fucking tool, but then again, you know this. ;)

The other 99 % of citizens go on with their lives, Never wearing politics on their every day sleeves.

What  I see on the streets is nothing like a Crazy Train, MSM hate speech or lonely lunatics  online, abandoned inside, with hair on fire mentality, never doused to reality or satisfied.

Good times are on the Agenda.
It's an individual  choice to join in cheer or drown in self inflicted sorrow.

Cool Lyrics and melody though, for a paranoid young guy drugged out of his
mind , selling desperate words with head banging rhythm, to his loyal following.

My opinion .   I'm glad he survived. Always liked the guy even when I disagreed with
his lyrics played much too loud...........what?    :-D

After standing close to stage, Ears ring for days..
I'll never forget the first time I saw them, or the day after in school.

I really got off on the Concert.
The next day in class I was still charged up, with ringing ears, acting like a maniac
telling my friends about the show  and trying to find someone else who was there.

Everyone I talked to had stayed home and studied.
I didn't realize until years later how lucky I was and how unlucky they were.
I have no doubt, most of what they learned by staying home and studying, they soon forgot.

I still remember, like it was last week, the fun I had at the show and how bad I failed, attempting to explain to my friends how awesome that show was.
