You want to see someone who doesn't have an incall. Hotels are expensive and require credit cards, ID's, all sorts of icky stuff. Hot Tubs are inexpensive, clean, private, cash based, don't want ID and don't care what name you put on the registration card.

Bay Area ladies and gentlemen-  weigh in on your hot tub preferences, experiences and thoughts. I'd especially like to hear from ladies who have strong feelings - places they love, hate and if they refuse hot tub dates altogether, why.

To get the ball rolling, here's my micro review of the two hot tub places I've been to

The Hot Tubs on Van Ness in San Francisco. Clean, lots of rooms, rooms pretty good sized, $24.50/hour per person, thirty minutes free before 5:00PM. Parking can be tight, though I've gotten luck finding places on Van Ness (come to think of it, I've gotten luck in the tubs, too, but that's a different story). There is also a paid lot a few blocks away at Broadway and Polk. Never had to wait for a room. Minutes from a bunch of good bars and restaurants on Polk. Only public transit is by buss. Appearance 8.5, performance 9, would repeat. And have.

The Hot Tubs of Berkeley on University. Same ownership as the one in SF, same rates but the free extra thirty minutes are to 7:00PM. There is usually parking on University but it's also a 5-10 minute walk from downtown Berkeley BART station. Feels a little older and less well kept than the one in SF but is perfectly clean and the once I went over the desk staff just said don't worry about it.  It helped I tipped them going in, but even so. I have heard that during peak times the can get crowded and you may need to wait, though I've had that happen to me. Appearance 7.5, performance 9, would repeat

Channing Way in Palo Alto is a nice place also.

Yeah, that's
Watercourse Way.
Nice tubs, each one
is a bit different than  the
other.

Zen Springs has lovely rooms, real baths that are cleaned and filled fresh for your time and great "beds" (more like a super awesome and extra large yoga mat on a platform). It's in Oakland and requires a reservation.

Watercourse Way is even more awesome! Just check the web site out... I love it there so much, words aren't enough!

Happy Hot Tubbin' :)

XO - Ireland

Hey, Ireland, glad you love Watercourse Way. I have been a fan for YEARS.

This is rather intriguing. Getting some hot tub action in is now on my to-do list when I visit the Bay next month.

I have been to the Hot Tubs on Van Ness with a civi date, it was clean and safe. It would be naughty and fun on an escort date I am sure!!
At first I was nervous everyone in there would be staring at me, or the desk would know that something might be going on, but the vibe is relaxed.

cool thread,  I haven't been to the tubs in many years.  But I have been to the Van Ness and Berkeley, as well as Watercourse Way. Recommend all three, especially Watercourse Way.  Like Ms. Ireland said, check out the website.

Has anyone been to the tubs in Daly City

I wasn't too impressed with the Tropical Garden Hot Tubs in Daily City. They are on level with Grand Central Hot Tubs in San Jose. Just not kept up as well, tubs kind of shallow, etc. I'd go again but wouldn't suggest either for a romantic date.

It's like a Motel 6 (Daily City's Tropical Gardens) vs a Courtyard Marriott (SF's Hot Tubs or Oakland's Zen Springs) vs Clift Hotel (Palo Alto's Watercourse Way).

I come out looking like a frizzy haired lady! lol and my makeup is done for :(

I have used the Van Ness hot tubs and they are definitely convenient and easy for when I don't have an incall. Just wish they didn't get so dang steamy so I could still look like myself when I leave! Oh well, fun times though :)

I totally agree and sympathize as a fair skinned / frizz-pron haired lady! I will say that the best for the flushed face and frizzy mess is the Zen Springs spot in Oakland or Watercourse Way Palo Alto. The rooms are a little bigger and the hot tubs less intense (although both offer steam rooms).

I should mention that the best pure therapeutic spot for hot tubs is The Hot Tubs Berkeley, hands down. The water is crazy hot and the jets have literally pushed me off the bench they are so strong. Kicked my tense-back's butt!

Wow - I'm seeing my passion for hot tubs in this thread! They are just such relaxing places. Yes, some are a little 'basic' but a little research will have you in hot tubbin' bliss :)
