Politics and Religion

Oh my God no!

The political persuasion of a band, company, actor, etc is meaningless to me.

Pearl Jam is one of my favorite groups ever and yes, it is annoying when they break into their political bullshit during the show, but its only a few minutes and I have always survived.

I cant rule it out in the future, but it would have to be someone or some entity that I thought was evil, not just liberal.

Most of the gals I see in this biz are liberal. Some of the ones I have gotten to know well have shared their political views with me and I with them.

I am not going to deprive myself a great joy or friendship based on someone's outlook on life or worldview.

The News channels you watch, The Brand fuel you buy,  The Gals you date, The Hooker you book, The Restaurant you enjoy, The Authors you read, The Food you buy, The  Shoes you wear,
The Jewelry you display, The Hotel you book, Your favorite Sports teams...........or
  The Comedians you watch?
I can't think of anyone or anything I've boycotted other than Exxon after I watched Water World, except I try to avoid extreme Partisan news from either side.
I haven't watched any TV comedians since I joined TER.
There's usually an overdose of  slap stick comedians  posting here.
I'm guilty of joining on more than one occasion. :-D

I couldn't help but LMAO when I read of Politically Correct Bill Maher's melt down, when the
 Patriots won.

I have absolutely no  proof, though I'd bet my shack  Left Wingers tend to boycott much more than Right Wingers.

Based on my experience and mine alone, I don't believe I'd be staying at the places I've been lately if I didn't have an open mind with everyone I meet and my joys in life.

  Your thoughts or confessions?

But the hope is that you respect the rights of those you disagree with. There used to be a dictum in this country which went along the lines of "I may disagree with what you say but I will fight 100% for your right to say it." Sadly that attitude seems to be disappearing today.

You bring up Bill Maher. Many years ago he was a clever political satirist; today in my opinion he has become an egotistical, unctuous bigot in the true sense of the word. Does anyone really believe that his comments to Tom Brady were in any way appropriate or humorous? He really went too far, but will anyone call him on it?

and I ZERO desire to watch his current show as it too is very unfunny for the very reasons you cite.

As for musicians and actors, I rarely pay much attention to their political opinions, if I like their music I listen to it, If I don't, I dont'

Businesses are a different matter. I refuse to buy "Progressive Insurance" because the company has put themselves out there as spending my money to fight causes I don't believe in. The same with Chick Fil A.  Because of the religious puke owner I went years refusing to spend a cent there.

It is the quality of the story and the quality of the acting. I go see actors I hate if the movie is good.
For the 2 hours I am in the movie, the actor is no longer a person I hate, but a different character that I am relating to.

Again, that assumes plot, story, acting, etc is good.

If the money is well rated by trusted sources I'll see it regardless of the political bent of the actors. Music is music, I don't go to many concerts so the band's politics doesn't matter at all.

I stream most of the movies I see anyway, so they aren't profiting from me anyway.
