I have several TER whitelist references. Yes, I am one of those guys who will give out my TER handle.
I have a lifetime subscription to Date Check with references there.
And finally, I NEVER try to book same-day. I am usually planning weeks (or even months) in advance.

I noticed it is really hard to get in touch with any providers because the girls I saw in the past probably don't remember me (too long ago), and they can't directly call me at work....
Any suggestions? This is pretty frustrating!!!! I just tried for 1.5 hrs to schedule an appt. b/c I feel frisky, and they either don't reply, don't pick up, or tell me I have to fill out the screening form on their website (which results in not being called back)....
You should give yourself plenty of time to contact a provider. We don't normally take last minute appointments. If not, you must go by what the provider requires.

I have only scheduled with TER ladies and have never had any problem, but I only hobby when I travel and I plan a least a couple of weeks ahead.
Most quality ladies are not available at your whim. Plan ahead and schedule a week or at least a few days in advance; fill-out the form and she will have time to call you back.
Most of the well reviewed ladies will require references and employment verification. You don't have to have a direct work number to you, just a place of employment and a work number that they can call with a benign question that won't embarrass or expose you to see if you work there. They are simply trying to satisfy themselves that you aren't le.
If you explore enough of the well reviewed ladies web sites- you will find some that talk about new hobbiests without references in their FAQ section. If you call enough, you will find one who will see you if you give her straight talk and her instincts trust you. That is how I started recently, and once "in" with the first one and now having a reference, you'll have a smoother path.
Just be honest and if you have any hangups about them verifying employment- get over it- they are only concerned about their safety and will not "out" you. If you want to see a well reviewed safe, good lady, you've gotta give!
I do give them time. Of course I would have preferred to have immediate access, but I made it clear that a few days down the road is fine with me too.
I do give out a work phone # that can be called and they tell someone who calls, sorry, he is not here.
The problem is 90 percent of the contacted ladies/agencies don't get back to me, which is pretty frustrating. No, there is nothing wrong with me. I don't behave bad, I don't mention the wrong things in emails or phone conversations. In fact I am nice and courteous, often leave additional tips, always ask if she is ok with what I am doing (or want to do), and always treat her nice (even the ones who rip me off, play bait and switch, or give sub-standard service).
This just seems like a huge time-sink just to schedule a 1 to 2 hr appointment. For example today I was finally able to schedule an appointment with a very hot girl for 1.5 hrs, but it took me almost 3 hrs until I got things finalized.
I know, customers are often time wasters too (from what I have heard), but that doesn't make this any less frustrating. I also know that once I established a "base" it will be easier since providers know me, can give me refs, etc. etc. But I don't plan on doing this on a regular basis, just once in a while to spice things up for me (like once every other month or so).
I am just saying, the cost of scheduling an appointment (in terms of time wasted) are almost higher than the actual amount of money required for the time spent.

I think I'm confused. It sounds as if you are doing everything right on your end. Is that three hours of *trying* to schedule, or three hours from the time you began trying to when you got a confirmation?
If it took three hours to try to schedule on your end, something is really off. It *can* take three hours or MORE on my end as a lady simply to verify and such, though most of that is downtime waiting for responses.
If it was only three hours from putting your request in until the time you got an ok, that is actually fairly quickly.
There are quicker ways of going about it (i.e., CraigsList) though you can search here to hear a few horror stories of how that will often play out...

I was thinking the same thing. I sent an email to a friend and heard back 3 days later. No biggie, because it was for something 10 days out. If I need immediate gratification, I use my phone. Of course, that still means calling someone that knows me, so there's no screening to be done. Even then, it's hit or miss, because she has other clients, and maybe even a LIFE.
I've got this afternoon almost confirmed, for something 3 hours from now. It can be part of the game. At the same time, the further out that you can plan (to a point, obviously), the better your chances.
For clarification, it took me 3 hrs to try and get an apt. I started looking for an appt. at 12 noon for an evening appointment on that day or the next. At 3 pm I finally got the first person tell me she is available that evening. All others either never responded, hung up on me, said they were busy "for the next few weeks," or told me I have the wrong number (again, all I said was: "I would like to schedule an appt." didn't mention any funky stuff).
One thing, which I guess is obvious is that the higher the amount of $ charged the easier it is to get in touch and schedule.
The (awesome) lady I finally saw was in the higher mid range of fees (a bit more than what the average provider here charges I would say). Review should be up by now.
I know I can get a fairly fast appt. through CL or some yellowbook ad, but I got burned too often, so I just stick to ladies with 2+ reviews on here for now.

I do all my initial contact by the provider's website and form or email. By doing this, I am on their time schedule not mine, and I may have a couple days of trading emails, but a very small amount of time actually spent.
I've noticed that the really well reviewed providers have a system they use to receive requests, screen, verify, and get back to appoint. The more I blend right in to their comfortable system, the more successful I am. It requires some patience waiting for email responses in some cases, but pays off in little time spent. There are some never answered requests and I move on- little time spent on my part.
I did join RS2K for verification which really speeds up the employment verification (bypasses it) with providers who accept it.

Also, if wanting to be speedy occasionally, I do have a few providers on my list who are well reviewed, but advertise on CL whenever they are available- I've noticed they are often speedy to get in with as they are posting their immediate availability when they drop an ad on Craigs List- I've only used it once when wanting to schedule same night, but it worked. Craigs List is mostly bad, but not all bad if you use it correctly (meaning calling ones who are well TER reviewed)

Just wondering, you said you had seen providers in the past that would not remember you because it had been so long ago, but you have 3 reviews you posted in Aug and Sept 2007?
Is that long ago??
