... it's a fun night out, and right at the edge of Chinatown if you like that sort of cuisine.  Lots to do here though - I am sure you'll have a great time

I need some suggestions for my upcoming visit please!

I love DC for the variety of things to do; plenty of museums, restaurants, nightlife.  I personally visit often the National Gallery of Art  and the  Hirshhorn Museum to check the current expositions. The Kennedy Center has several events. (if you are like me  and enjoy classic music, opera, ballet, etc).
I am looking forward to see the Mariinsky Ballet!!!

January it's almost over but in this site you can find monthly events and activities.

If is your first time in the city; well, the Smithsonian (all the museums is a good thing to do). Also, the normal things that every tourist do in here, White House, the Mall, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery ( if you go you should see The Changing of the Guard)

oh, yoga studios all over the metro area!

Hope this help!

p.s. and great gentleman! :)

Thank you my dear! I have been to a few museums, but not many. I finally have time to explore this trip.

Visit
The Smithsonian Institute Hall of Gems,

The East building, by I M Pei, of the National Gallery of Art,

The cafeteria between the East and West buildings of the National Gallery of Art and sit beside the underground waterfall.

National Cathedral on Wisconsin Avenue at sunset to view the sunset through the rose window,

Mount Vernon, George’s home.

If you have a few days, visit Williamsburg, Virginia, www.hostory.org, as there is NOTHING like it in the US.  If you go here, send me a Private Message (PM) for more information.

would be a Washington Nationals game, but unless you're coming in April or afterwards, they're not playing. But now, I do like going to the DC Improv.

If you visit the museums on the Capitol Mall, and you find yourself a bit worn out, go the to United States Botanic Garden which is on the same side as the National Air and Space Museum and close to the Capitol building. It's full of exotic plants and is very soothing and relaxing.

If you are a nature/animal lover you could go to Great Falls Park on the Potomac, take a long walk in Rock Creek Park, or visit the National Zoo. Shenandoah National Park is further away, about 2 hours west of DC.

Also there is Georgetown for shopping....  And Old Town Alexandria (by Torpedo Factory) http://www.visitalexandriava.com/old-town-alexandria/

Ford's Theater...  https://www.fords.org/

US Capitol  https://www.visitthecapitol.gov/plan-visit/book-tour-capitol

And a Caps game is a great idea...
