I wish that there were more intellectuals like you. I love conversing with people who can provide intelligent responses to topic that they may or may not agree with.

Maybe one of these days, we'll bump into each other and have a great conversation.

Oh yea... that part about 'Participating on the discussion boards is free advertising' is very well stated. Unfortunately, there are a few that either don't like your statement or just plain don't get it.

Participating on the discussion boards is free advertising. Any of those who deal with advertising, realizes that advertising of any business can be costly. With that being said, why not utilize avenues of free advertising?

I don't spend any real length of time participating on forums. However, I do check in from time to time and engage, when I have something to add. This allows the lurkers and participates to get a glimpse of my personality, how I conduct myself/business and take note of my sense of humor at times. The results can and eventually will result in time spent together, if the gentlemen appreciates how a companion conducts herself and her business.

Hello Folks,

I've been a member of TER since 2003 and I don't participate in the discussion boards that much. I mostly read the good, the bad and the ugly postings over the years.

There is one common thing that 'Makes Me Wonder'...

There are a handful of providers that do spend A LOT of TIME posting in the TER discussion forums. It does make me wonder if they have any time to do the actual providing the service that the providers are advertising.

It's very possible that those same providers who are freqent posters are also on other similar websites that do post quite a bit at those websites as well.

My question to you providers is this...

Do you really do any kind of providing or do you spend all of your waking hours making your postings in websites such as TER?

I am curious of your responses / answers.

I am sure some will come on and give you their thoughts, but to start the discussion:

1.  Most the ladies on here are self employed and marketing themselves is something that takes time and effort.  The right boards are one such vehicle.  Yes, it does take time but the good ones know how much work it takes--contrary to what many guys believe.  A very good friend of mine was one of the top ladies in DC before she retired and at the peak of her business allotted 4 hours a day to reply to e-mails, post on boards, post ads, etc.  This business takes work, and advertising is part of the work.

2.  Boards are a part of many ladies' screening.  It is more interactive than many other options, and by being on the boards a lady can get a better feel for what a guy is like over an extended period.  A lady might not see someone based upon their board presence but they will certainly pass on some because of their board presence.

3.  A hotel room can get lonely, and the boards are one connection to the outside world.  It isn't as if most ladies see vast numbers of guys every day, and one can only do so many Sudukos before becoming brain dead.

All rather straight forward kinds of reasons that reflect good business practice.

If I were trying to market myself from only my postings, I would be more of an azz kisser lol. Funny thing though...most of you have seen me because of my opinionated, somewhat "bitchy" persona over the years, so I guess SECURE men like many of you, can appreciate a woman who can take care of herself and sees no need to pretend to be something she is not. Those who know providers personally certainly know most of this is just tongue and cheek, and most of us are pussy cats...with a whip. :)

It is part of marketing and keeps ones name in the limelight for free..You create a buzz among the readers and so when they see your ad or a review on them people will notice...Believe me, it does not take  up a lot of time at all....

when you felt the need to harrass me via email....those who charge enough don't have to lay on their backs all day lol. Seems simple to me. Many of us work as providers very little, and only when we want to. Consider that. It could be the same reason you have the time to stalk providers and play on your google account all day lol.

You seem to assume if a lady is on the boards alot, she isn't making money or taking care of her financial obligations.

I am just saying that assumption could go both ways.    Basically its non of your business how we handle our business or how much time we spend on the boards.  So stay out of it.  And I will stay out of yours.

A few people have stated that providers use the discussion forums to "advertise" their business, well, that will make it not only my business, but every hobby's business as well.

I don't advertise my business on TER, but if I did... I am sure you would make it your business to praise / criticize my business that I am advertising on here. That's called the rating system, just it's being used here in TER.
