I have to agree with Bahamia. I am a relatively new provider to the area (1 year next month) and screening is still quite the challenge. Lots of time wasters and flakes here, sadly. My best clients are usually out of town gents who find me via TER. So you are in the right place so to speak

I've never been on this board before, so please forgive my ignorance, but I was hoping to gain some insight. I started as a provider in Chicago a couple of years ago. I'm FTM transgender (ie, I look like your average guy, but with functional female bits below) so I obviously fall into a niche market. As such, and at risk of sounding egotistical, there was always a large enough pool of interest to keep me busy, much by word-of-mouth, social circles, and regulars. I didn't have to spend nearly as much time and effort marketing. Of course, there were always folks who didn't want to agree to my terms, but I felt busy enough to easily opt not to see them.

I guess I don't mind the extra marketing, but what's getting old seems to be the crazy amount of potential clients who are so extremely interested...until I try to screen. That seems to be the conversation-ender out here, as though it's just not a "thing" that's cool to do.

Is there something I'm missing that's Colorado-particular? I guess I don't have a lot of visible reviews, so maybe that's the real issue, but almost without fail, every one who contacts (with the exception of a just a few over the past weeks) the conversation comes to a dead stop when I ask for a reference. What's the deal?

Hey there, I'm in Denver also. I just got back from touring 2 weeks from near Chicago and DC. I noticed as I began coming west starting at Kansas city, the bullshit began. Lots of inquiries and calls, but nobody booking. Now that I'm back in Denver, I've come to realize people out here are just backwards. They don't know how to book an appointment, they don't want to pay the rates (in DC I never had to argue about my rates or get told, "that's too steep"), and even the regular clients here eventually end up becoming timewasters themselves: contacting then cancelling, and then calling out the blue 2 weeks later. Well sorry bub, but did you think I'd stick around town  waiting for you to come around again?

As with screening, I find many guys will text, and then when I ask them to call...they say, "I'm at work, will call later". So for me, if they can't even do that, then they not about nothing anyway.

The good days in Denver are long gone, atleast for me. I'm pretty much seeing clients just to have money to get on the next flight out. Eventually, I'm not coming back anymore.

...so if you're planning to require screening, I would seek to advertise places outside of the male escort market.  Such as TER, P411, Date-Check, etc.  I do not know if P411 or Date-Check allow FTM escorts, but I know that TER does allow FTM escorts to be reviewed here.  They have mentioned that your profile name would need to begin with "FTM" for a review to be allowed.  I would recommend getting one of your clients to write a TER review and for you to start advertising here, and see if you can get on Date-Check and/or P411.  Eros and/or Slixa May or may not also work for you.

Any traditional "male escort" sites like Rentboy.com, Rentmen.com, etc., WILL have clients who are interested in FTMs, but screening is such an abnormal practice in that segment of the industry that I'm not sure if you'll have much luck there.  Definitely worth trying.  There will always be clients who will complain about screening no matter what city or ad venue you work, though, so best to just stick to your guns and work only the way that makes you comfortable.  I'd also recommend some full-body photos, maybe non-nude but in like a jockstrap or something that doesn't cover much.  Have a friend take them.  Selfies are cool but in a niche market like yours I imagine it's helpful to explain a bit more with your photos.

Being reviewed here would probably help you find the type of clients who are willing to provide screening info.  Being in such a niche market makes having a verifiable reputation even more important, IMO.  Good luck!

the rates in denver are also extremely low. i cant even get anyone local around here to invest more than an hour's session, and my regulars never want to pay more than like $120. my regular 1 hour rates are supposed to be 180 in 200 out. i cant even get that.

and just today, a dinner date that was scheduled here for tonight was cancelled for no reason other than "his trip to denver got called off" why? that doesn't happen in other places. people come to town and call when they are there.  all new inquiries i've received this week have not panned out. i come home from 2-3 weeks tour, nothing changes, or ever gets better. it's just the same bullshit week in, week out.  right now, i'm putting all my effort into finding a new town to live.

i know complaining doesn't help, but everything else i ever try to do here is futile. they just aren't ready out here. there's no money in denver...no matter how much they brag about our economy and marijuana revenue. there's no money for us because people in denver and those who visit aren't interested in supporting the business. i just cant get ahead in this town. i'm just so over it.
