My mistake.  It's Neiman Marcus

Hi guys, I recently moved to Tyson corner and Fairfax area and I am looking for a nice restaurant to go on this weekend.
Any advise you can give me will help a lot since I am very new to these area.
Thank you!

h gosh..You have so many choices at Tysons. What kind of cuisine are you looking for? Tysons Corner Mall (the big one..) has several optiona...Across the street at Tysons Galleria there is a good selection as well. Alas most are on the high end  price wise. If you like Thai food, a popular local choice is on Route 7 (7501 Leesburg Pike) heading east towards Falls Church ... Tara Thai..
Hope this helps.
If you have some favorite food types Im pretty sure you can find them at Tysons and someone  will have a suggestion.

Welcome to NoVA..Dont hesitate to ask if you have a question about the area. Its big and easy to get confused

There's also the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on 7 near the Embassy Suites (and the auto dealerships) and some new places in the new complex where the Urbban Walmart is located. I've not been there but there's also a Korean place on 7 at the intersection of 123 and Rt 7 that is supposed to be very good -- again, I've never been there but have been told by some people.

It's not a great area to just try walking around (you probably already figured that out) but both the malls have a number of places so you can kinda pretend you're in a more urban setting and have a large selection of places without needing to drive from place to place. Coastal Flats is not bad and (forgetting the name) the place across the mall with the piano bar and french doors opening on to the mall has a nice ambiance and I enjoyed the food there as well -- really liked the singer's voice.

Another place you might already know about is in Merryfield area near the metro. It's the new "urban center" type place in the area and has a bunch of interesting dinning places there (both sides of Lee Highway)

It's called the Mosaic District. Google that for the restaurants. Black Fin seems to be the popular place with my comrades.

is Four Sisters, one of the best Vietnamese places in the area.  Also worth are Ted's Bulletin, Brine, Sea Pearl for seafood, & Trio Grill.  And BTW it's spelled Merrifield to help you find it.

They have a lot of great places to eat. Have fun! I am heading over there now with some family members.

Sea pearl for seafood attract me alot!
I will def. check these places out one by one!
Thx!

Yes! Steak is one of my favorite!
You are great, this really helps me to figuring out the good restaurants around me
Thx again

Thank you very much for your detailed info.
This is great, now I will see what I want to go first on my off time
thx again

Depends of what you are looking for... lots of steak houses, indian, mediterranean, italian choices.

My favorite are Lebanese Taverna at the Tysons Galleria, The Capital Grille, Wildfire... to name a few.

By the way... I want to visit that area soon!

Cool!
Thank you for your info!
Hope visit here soon!

Ruth Chris! :))))
also Wildfire inside the mall is great! If you want Mideastern I recommend Alborz. Earl's Kitchen is a great one as well.

Have to call a pause on Ruth Chris..Been to the Tysons location too many times for a less than good meal. I remember one time the served cheesecake was mostly still frozen and had the taste of what I think mostly frozen cardboard might taste like, that is to say no taste at all. Honest it was that good.
Now my meals have always been in conjunction with some sort of presentation to a group of 30 or so and handling a group service is not the same as service to a single table. Not an legitimate reason but maybe the reason none the less.

For steak, my money at Tysons would be Flemings over on Rt.123 beating out The Palm as well. Been there several times too and never had a bad time

Ok, I have not been to the mall yet, but next time I get to go to the mall, I will def. check that place out!
Thx! ^^

J Gilbert's in McLean. Right down the street. Would love to know if any lovely ladies are ever visiting downtown Mclean.

Excellent place to find healthy American cuisine using local Virginia farm products. It is located outside the large mall at Tysons Corner.

The Capital Grill for steak (very expensive)
Lebanese Taverna at the Tysons Galleria for Mediterranean fare, the chicken shawarma is excellent (not too expensive)
Macy’s in the Tysons Galleria has a small café, and it has the best salsa in the world.
The Silver Diner next to Tysons is OK

Does Macy's have a cafe?  Or did you mean the Neiman Marcus?

My mistake.  It's Neiman Marcus

far from cheap, but right in line with Ruth's Chris, Morton's & most big name steakhouses.  Perhaps useful information for any readers unfamiliar with the genre.

Redhotflowers, thanks for posting this question! I was going to ask the same thing here, as I am making my first visit there in November!! Seems like there is a pretty good variety of different types of restaurants to choose from. With Vietnamese and Thai places, presents opportunities for great meals as a vegetarian, and not being stuck with salads only!!!! Makes me 😄

Seasons 52 in the Tysons Corner mall is great.  They make good cocktails and their menu changes with the seasons, hence the name.  It is right across from Coastal Flats and next to Gordon Biersch.

This place has been closed the last few times I've been to Tysons mall -  some sort of renovation. Not sure what's going on with it.

I never been there before but I will def. check that place out!
Thx!!
