The average rate for a good provider is more like $250 to $300 per hour.
Sure, the $1,000+ provider may have a harder body and will, perhaps, give greater attention, but I have a wonderful time with providers in the lower cost ranges. The most I have ever paid is $3,000 for two hours, and while she was nice, I would not repeat.
It's just not worth it and I do not have money to burn.

Jazz32, I really like the distinction you make between porn groupies & hobbyists. I sometimes read the Porn Stars board and I am a fond of that film genre. My impression is that those ladies make $1,200, $1,500 or more for a porn shoot, so that is what they charge for a session.
That hardly seems fair, since a porn shoot would be a lot more work, what with stopping to shoot stills and such. But if guys are willing to pay it, you can hardly blame the girl. These guys are not really hobbying. Instead they are starfucking in the most literal sense possible.
I also suppose that it is the same concept as when a porn star feature dances at a strip club. Guys will pay 3 times more for a lapdance from her than they would from a regular girl. While it may be a great lapdance, it is mostly for the concept of being with this girl whose porn persona is so famous. Then, if you are ever in a conversation with another porn aficianado, you can say, "yeah, I've been with her."
Not really sure where the word "fair" comes into play. The lady is certainly entitled to charge whatever she wants. Honestly most of them don't get anywhere near $1500 for a shoot but, if it's any consolation, they also only get to keep about half of the escorting fee if they are booking through an agency.
If a PS is what you want (not really in my price range) there are lots of independent PS's and former Ps's out there at l,000 an hour or less.
