desperately coming up with inane thread topics solely hoping to drive visits to their sites ... personally I find it so sad & boring compared to the DC Board of the distant past ... any thoughts from other long time mongers?
It seems that TER has made a decision to restrict the flow of actual discussion on this now "alleged" discussion board by allowing ISO posts to flood the market.
When I see ISO posts from well established mongers who seem too lazy to do any actual homework of their own, it eliminates my desire to help them out.
I believe there should be restrictions on ISO posts (i.e. - only ask for things that cannot be found by "searching" like a particular fetish, etc.). There should also be restrictions as to who can place an ISO post (mongers with more than 10 reviews should NOT be allowed to post ISO's on their "home" board,etc.).
Of course, the actual creation of a separate ISO board for each city that needs it (I would think this board is a leading candidate) would solve the entire issue. That would require more space on the servers and TER may have to add servers to the system. That costs money and they might not be able to afford that. Of course, if they did add servers, the cost would most likely be passed on to those who pay for memberships. Depending on that cost, I would gladly pay a few bucks to make that happen.
Back in the day(I sound old lol) we use to post fun stuff every day. Now there are so many rules it's boring.

It was like a first come first serve deal. The first provider to start the thread named the them of the day and a lot of ladies participated. You guys seemed to enjoy it too. Also guys use to post sort of contest asking who the best kisser was or who has the best physique etc. Oh well

The discussions really went south when they got rid of the multiple alias features.
Multiple aliases were eliminated because people were abusing that privilege. There were warnings given about it and when people continued, they revoked the privilege for everyone. Might just be my opinion, but I found TER's action on this warranted and applauded it then and still do now.
Political correctness, IMO, has gone way too far in today's society. Take for example the whole Washington "Redskins" name. Only 10% of American Indians today find the name offensive, but because the few that do hired a good attorney to represent and speak for them, the media and some sportscasters have joined their bandwagon, calling for Dan Snyder to change the name. Political correctness my ass.....the team name has been around for 70+ years and only "now" it's considered offensive? People seem to forget that the gentleman who named the team the "Redskins" was a Native American Indian.
I don't like Donald Trump for much, but he hits the nail right on the head when he says "being PC has gotten way out of hand". It has appeared to have gotten to this board as well. Some posts are pulled due to "a few" people complaining of its content, simply because they don't agree with what was said. When we start "catering" to the vast minority of people and ignore the vast majority of people, we will eventually have anarchy.
Lastly, IMO, some of the TER powers that be seem to ignore the posting guideline rules and replace them with their own personal bias and opinions to make their decisions about what should be allowed and what should not. The rules are in place to give us all a base of what to expect. To arbitrarily apply the rules due to personal belief or biasness is just wrong. We all are guests here and TER sets the rules. If we are expected to live with and by the rules, so should the decision makers. If the rules change, that's one thing, but applying the rules evenly and to everyone needs to be maintained in order for this board to survive.

Things have gone downhill it seems. More bargain basement bullshit and shady escorts that know how to get reviews posted than before.
And it probably cuts both ways. I know a few (excellent) providers who asked that I not review them, citing the caliber of shopper it attracts when their profile shows up on here. Works for me cuz I don't write reviews anyway.

This guy has posted 3 ISOs on the Maryland Board in the last 2 weeks.
Reviewers are sometimes so freeking lazy......and it takes up valuable space here.
...For whatever that's worth. I made threads in the not so distant past about girls using the hobby as a dating service and a threads calling out those that have no black guy policies. My opinions...but those threads did high numbers.
Also, I revived PV discussions a couple yes back. So specialized info can get people talking.
But for general fun hobby threads...I guess that time has passed. You want the old days...look back at the old post, lol.
I agree, this board sucks wind nowadays. Whatever happened to the good old days, with loose rules and tons of reviews and the Beef running rampant through the DMV?!! Maybe mongers have gravitated to a local board of some sort that I unfamiliar with? Or, perhaps, the relentless rate increases in DC and the rise of SA has harkened the slow decline of the hobby here? I don't have the answer, only questions. Let's see how long my post survives on this "discussion" board before admin deletes it, citing some piddley opaque rule that no one likes.
So, in my early hobby days TER was my go-to when I discovered it. I loved the boards. You could get good info and intel, meet like minded Mongers and exchange good info and simply have a folks who could relate to your Mongering ways. Back then the topics were broader; the atmosphere was lighter and more fun; and the BSCs did not have as big as voice. Hence, I site the following summary reasons the DC TER board has declined significantly in interest, at least by me and IMHO:
- SA and similar outlets are growing in use and popularity. I know for me, SA has been a boon.
- A new crew of DC TER'ers are here. A lot of the old names that use to be here are gone/moved on, or, busted by LE (Beefeater).
- LE snooping. Per the last point, I know some members that were here in my early hobby days that experienced some very questionable provider intro/s that smelled of Bacon. Hence, many folks simply went further underground and/or vanished altogether.
- Period of BSCs types made it difficult to stomach the TER D.C. board. There were some blatant racists; certifiable providers; and other forms of wack jobs posting and making the search for some good pussy un-fun! Hence, TER for good or bad had to respond with rules and changes that further reduced the fun quotient of the boards. Now the boards feel more and more Big Brother-ish ran.

What it has become now, apparently by design, is nothing more than a "match.com" for the hobby.

Good natured banter, questions asked and answered and the general sharing of knowledge and humor have gone by the wayside, replaced by what we now have.
Sure, in its purest form, anytime a lady posts, it can be considered an ad. But dont stress about it, if you are so "cynical" that you think that way, maybe you need to visit one of the lovely ladies here and let them release your stress
