It's been a couple of years but my colleagues and I would occasionally take a businessman's lunch at Camelot, just south of Dupont Circle.  Full nude.  No cover charge.  Nice place with attractive dancers.

...lead me to private views...and I finally got the balls to try private views after research lead me to erotic review in 2011. DC ain't really a strip club town.

However, private views ruined strip clubs for me as it's usually a better bargain, more interesting, comfortable, can be a wonderful surprise, and pretty low key.  

Strip Clubs are simply a hangout spot in my opinion, can be a money pit, and arguably a place to be seen throwing around money. During the times I patronized strip clubs I preferred day-shift girls at the strip club...and liked the hang out weekdays 12pm-4pm but could end up spending several hundred dollars (maybe a Grand) between lapdance, drinks, and tips

Of course this is just my opinion, but if it is simply the caliber (looks) of the girls dancing, then Camelot, as previously mentioned, is a good choice.

If it is just about anything else, DC strip clubs lack woefully behind other major US cities. Having frequented strip clubs all over the US for years, I can tell you that DC itself is seriously lacking in this area

Touching is not allowed nor are lap dances for example. That's the reason for the sub par collection of strip clubs in the District. This has been the case for decades.  
The Camelot has always been the class of the lot..Their food fpr instance is very good! Now I know thats not what most visitors come for but it is what it is in Washington, DC....Interesting to note, some of the dancers have been there for years..seriously and are class acts..
