Interesting about the article, but I also believe speech should be free.

This board has discussed religion, race, body types, donations etc.  Some of these things are volatile and the arguments may cross the line of simply being passionate. But hey, we are big boys and girls.

Different strokes for different folks.  As in any group, there are some nice guys posing as assholes, and some assholes posing as nice guys.  (A few of the ladies can give you opinions of which I am, here or privately)  There are not enough ladies posting here lately, so we do get a bit out of hand.

If you make more of an effort to banter, I'll do my part to play nice....deal?

I'm getting tired of cowards hiding behind aliases too. I'd love to see TER do away with that shit. Anyway, if anyone flames you I know they've never met you.

Sometimes their comments are useful and or helpful but often times it seems to me that they just want to post something/anything just to see their moniker on the board. In these cases, the comments add no value to the discussion whatsoever. Again, just my personal observation.

For readers of this forum, it won't be too difficult to determine who the folks are. They are the ones that post on virtually every subject, every topic, every post, no matter what.

I, for one (and hopefully many more) wish people would post when they have something legitmate to say and/or add and not just chime in on every single post. The comments simply lose value along the way. Call it the Chicken Little Syndrome.

And thank you Tia for beginning the discussion even though it turned out to be a rant of my own. Peace!

...messeges were posted much closer to "real time" with less of a wait, which would allow for more playful topics and faster communication between members.  The longer time for post to appear, I think, drives the casual member/poster away.  The "chiming in", within any reasonable time, can be the difficult part.   Maybe TER can address why the longer delay times for some. But your points are well made.

As far as members usuing alias'...It makes no difference to me, I hardly know anyone, anyway (lol). I think at times, we need to pay more attention to what is said...not who said it. Plus, I think at times some of the alias' are pretty funny when they go along with thier subject line.
