let us hope this election finally buries Trump the Dog..

Here's this week's poem. It's from the early 19th Century by Lord Byron, and it's chiseled on a stone in an English meadow.

"Near this spot is deposited the remains
Of one who possessed beauty without vanity,
 Strength without insolence,
 And courage without ferocity.

"These words would be un unmeaningful flattery
 If inscribed over human ashes,
But it is a just tribute
 To the memory of Bo'sun,
 A dog."

So just for sake of argument, let's say we had two candidates of such high calibre as the subject of the epitaph. Do you think the election would be more contentious, or would it be less?

Would we be as fierce in our arguments against each other's pick of candidates, or would we all be a tad more mellow showing a bit of respect to both?

That's the assignment, and this ends Your Poetry Hour. Have a prosaic day!!
