The Riv is not one of the newest or classiest joints in Vegas.  Some girls work the Splash bar there but not the top end girls.  My advice is to go to a well reviewed indie or if you really want to troll, go to the Wynn or better yet, the Mandalay Bay.

if your an owner, shareholder, or getting full comps.  One of the oldest casino's left ... and still $dollars$ for what your getting ... I don't know if any ladies buzz that dive anymore or not .... I'd seeked food and shelter elsewhere. hobby safe hobby well hobby all you can be ........

I agree that the older places aren't as nice but some hobbyists have limited resources and would rather spend the money on providers instead of a room that you don't spend a great deal of time in.   I usually stay at the Sahara which isn't the greatest place but I haven't heard any complaints from any of the providers that have come to see me there.  Just my 2 cents

Any opinions on the Orleans?   I'm not getting my usual deal from the Sahara for New year's weekend.  Right now, the Orleans is coming in at a much cheaper rate.  Other than being off the strip, are there any other things that might cause me to want to stay elsewhere?

I like the orleans alot. I stay there alot. The hotel is not very old so everything is nice.  There is lots to do there and it is easy to get to.  I have been in the rooms in the sahara and orleans is much faster.  something stupid, but the high speed internet runs fast at the orleans.
all the providers i see haven't complained about the orleans.  oh wait, i only see nikki there =)

or any other Coast or Station property would work well.  I'd guess that similar places like Sam's Town, Arizona Charlie's (company owns Stratosphere too), and Fiesta (part of the Station chain) would work as well.  El Rancho would be a bit scary though.

Syn City.  Haven't had a chance to check it out yet.  Could be interesting.  Splash recently revamped their production for their 20th anniversary.  And Frank Marino is always getting press (s/he's in La Cage; also had a small part in the movie Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous).

And the ever continuing rumors of the place being sold, blown up, and redone as a megaresort.  Just so long as they don't mess with the Peppermill Lounge. :-)

Okay, what's the story with the Peppermill?  I heard it used to be a mob hangout.  Never really been there, other than walking in and then right out.

Restaurant in front is just your basic diner (with multicolored sugar crystals in the shaker).  Nothing too special about it.  But in back, the Fireside Lounge is a pretty cozy place to hang out.

Supposedly Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller fame) had one of the booths recreated in his home.

Shoulda walked in the back door first :-)

other than " snoozing" there.. there isn't much else..upscale hotel casinos - nice talent late nite at the bars... beat up old hotel casino.. beat up talent .. if any...
make a date with one of the pretty well revied ladies and have a great time
