I've been asked and encouraged to share my CE3K experience with Donald Trump so here it is...regular_smile

It was at an entertainment industry party to promote a movie that had just been released. Trump was in the middle of his divorce from Ivana and Marla Maples was nowhere to be seen, but he did have two lovelies with him... pros or pornstars no question about it.

We were introduced and shook hands and made small talk for about 30 seconds, mostly me shilling the movie (Final Analysis) and inquiring half-jokingly whether he was interested in putting up money for the next project (Twelve Monkeys). He smiled and moved on to talk to someone else and that was that.

In point of fact, the man did have a charisma about him at the time. He was friendly and engaging. I thought it was sorta cool. Still do, although my opinion of the man has changed substantially since his campaign caught hold.

I've had the opportunity to interact with a number of high profile people in my life, from Rock Stars and A-listers to powerful politicians. And at the end of the day, the Donald Trump I met was charismatic and friendly enough but really nothing more than a very high profile trust fund punk with the entitlement mentality that comes from believing one is "To the Manor Born".

Always interesting to see the reactions of so-called superstars and celebrities when you encounter them.

So what? Who cares what a couple of ignorant fools and a foul-mouthed bitter little man think?

Besides, having shared a corn beef sandwich with Vice President Hubert Humphrey has far more gravitas.
Especially with Walter Cronkite and Sam Donaldson sitting at the same table.(California Dem primary - 1972)
