I have to admit, I thought Hillary came pretty close to crossing the line several times. I, particularly, groaned when she talked about Trump being healthy as a horse; the horse that Putin rides. I think she got away with more because she did a better job of self-deprecation, positively acknowledging the people, organization and the work they do, while also talking about her own faith. If I remember correctly, Trump did little or none of that. Also, many of those people remember his father as being a Catholic hater.

What are you smoking, Trump bombed.  He was booed several times by a room full of priests.  He's the only candidate in the history of the Al Smith dinner that didn't understand you don't attack your opponent, that you are suppose to keep it light and fun.  I wish I could say I was surprised that he wouldn't understand.

That seems to be a pattern for him.  He can be disciplined for a time, but then degenerates into showing his true personality.  
   
 I see where Hillary held back at least one joke that would have been pretty tacky for the occasion, hitting Trump on his sexual abuse history.  How do I know that?  Wikileaks of course.    Actually, I think it was BBC that reported she said that joke, something about Trump barging in on her in the ladies' dressing room before the dinner.  Apparently the press was given transcripts of the speeches, and Hillary decided to forgo that one, and maybe others.
