refused to endorse him, and so with his Alma Mater's student newpapers. And, there's a Conservative Christian women's movement rebelling against their male overlords and signing a letter condemning Trump.

I've been mouthing off about about the absurd lack of patriotism found in the Party priorities that refuse to do what is necessary to protect the country. Party Above Nation. Apparently, there are at least some conservatives who put America first.

The "unfit" label could of course backfire. Would FDR's crippled legs have made him "unfit?" No, probably not today. But an argument could be made that invisible disabilities, such as psychosis, should not be used to discriminate one's ability to hold office. Not that I'd make that argument, and no only because I hate the bastard, but because his particular disability would, IMO, seriously interfere with his ability to do the job.

One sad note in the article was this:

"Other Republican-leaning editorial boards like the Richmond Times-Dispatch and New Hampshire Union Leader threw their clout behind Johnson."

Johnson, though not nuts, has a platform and vision for America that is not at all a future to be devoutly wished. But, mais en fin, what can you expect from a conservative?

And then there is Pence who says he's first a Christian, second a Conservative, and a third a Republican. I suppose if he kept going fourth he would be a husband and parent. That I'd take as sincere and worthy of respect. Fifth and sixth he'd throw in other pious bids for peer admiration, and so on till he got into the high teens where, perhaps, as an afterthought, the VP hopeful might throw in some statement like, "Oh, yeah, and eighteenth I am an American." And then they wonder why someone might regard them as deplorable.
