I am a 55 year old new hobbyist- first experience was earlier this week with a mid to late 20's provider. It was a little awkward being with someone that young- she was really tentative and I was nervous, but session went okay. I chose her because she was well reviewed by experienced reviewers for safety from the le point of view.
I was wondering if the age difference was responsible for the awkwardness, or other factors (the way the provider is maybe or chemistry wrong?) I read the TER instruction manual and followed it to the letter as far as cleanliness, shaving private areas, etc and was very courteous and respectful, it just wasn't what I had imagined it would be.
Do the providers in their early 20's routinely see men in their fifties or should I be fishing older ponds? I don't look 55- no gray, good shape, probably look 45.

No, I'm just wondering if the large age difference is why she wasn't very responsive. That's why I'm asking this question now. She was willing and did all requested, but it was pretty mechanical and placid.
First let me preface that THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS; but overall I think you'll find that the 30 year old and older variety of providers are more confident, attentive, and comfortable to be with. The reasons are many, and can be summed up in one simple word “maturity”
I am just about fifty and over 80% of the ladies I see are under thirty. Again there are exeptions but I just prefer younger women.
One added benefit to the hobby. I am neither exceedingly rich or handsome, but I have no problems approaching twenty somethings in civvie life either. If you get shot down, what the heck there is always P4P, and if you don't get shot down, then life is good...real real good. lol
I wouldn't make too much of a single encounter. At 55 you're right in the range for many clients, so any experienced provider will see lots of men in your age range. If she has quality reviews it's reasonable to assume that she has no issues with your age. So it might have been something else. It is possible that your expectations were unrealistic or you just didn't click. It happens and you shouldn't worry about it. It is very difficult to feel comfortable with every person you meet, even more difficult if it's in an intimate situation.
From a provider's point of view, who knows other providers, there are good and bad providers of all ages. And there are some that are not necessarily bad, but who may have an off day. After all, we are all human!
The first step in seeing any provider is to first read her reviews. This will give you a little information about how she operates. Is she a GFE? Does she kiss? For me and for many others, kissing is one of the best ways to develop that chemistry. Its no different than when you were a highschool kid, making out on the couch, and your hormones would surge.
How important is communication (talking) for you to feel relaxed. For some clients, its the whole experience that is important and not just the intimate part. I personally do not see gentlemen under a certain age, kidding that when if we were to talk about Kennedy's death, the subject shouldn't be an airplane crash. I feel more comfortable with gents in their late 30's and over and have, therefore, set that as my minimum.
Then decide what age group you would be comfortable with. If you have kids about the same age as the provider you are seeing, especially a daughter, there may be that nagging little thought in the back of your head that says "what if this was one of your daughter's friends" and that may keep you from being able to relax and enjoy the moment. This is not a "plug" for older women, its simply food for thought.
Its all a matter of perspective. There are some young providers who feel uncomfortable seeing older men and there are others who can't get past the fact that he is around the same age as their father. For others, its not an issue. I am sure you told her your age when you booked.
If its the 20 year old ladies that you are attracted to, then that is the age group you should stick with. But, just make sure they know in advance that you are in your 50's.
Most of all, there is always the chance that for whatever reason the chemistry was missing regardless of the age difference.

2 girls, each roughly half my chronological age. Mentally, we were quite compatible, but that wasn't really why I was there.
I like that trick, in about five years when I turn fifty four, I'll have to try that trick with three girls, each roughly a third my age. Seeing a girl a third my age before then, while enticing, is probably a bad idea.Actually a very,very bad idea. lol
You're SO MUCH WISER than me, lol. I'd be thinking about two 27-yr olds, but with that sage wisdom you took it to a higher level.
Sounds to me as if the provider's attitute affected your attitude. Age shouldn't be an issue for a provider who doesn't state a minimum/maximum age. If a provider is not in to it, then you'll not be into it as well.
There ar elots of young providers w/o an age issue. Forget about that one and move on to the next one.
