New Restaurant Downtown...

I visited 'The Parish' last night. It's an adorable building near the corner of Main and 9th downtown. It's shape is reminiscent of the flat iron building in NYC.

The staff were extremely accommodating, I suppose they're trying to make good impressions during their opening month. The drinks took forever, two appetizers had come and gone before they showed up. But the drinks were comped so that's alright.

We tried the deviled eggs (pleasant), fried oyster poutine (interesting, good), green beans (delicious), fish and chips (very tasty but nothing special at $20), butter lettuce salad (fine) and short-rib pot pie (salty, over cooked crust). She gave us sticky toffee bread pudding for dessert and it was fantastic.

Yet another restaurant to liven up the downtown scene. The decor is gorgeous and the menu is creative. But the prices are a tad bloated. And they definitely need to work out the kinks at the bar.
