Accepting Evite or Google Calendar Invite from provider

Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with receiving an evite or Google calendar invite in your email inbox from a "legit" provider, which shows date, time, location, duration, etc. of meeting is becoming more common, is this a secure/confidential tool to use, etc? You are asked to answer if you accept the invite or not (Yes, No, or Maybe). I believe it's probably no more nor no less secure/confidential then just doing so via regular email or txt message. I'm sure it's more secure to do this through something like P411. Appreciate any comments!

A provider confirmed an appointment with an Outlook calendar request to my email address.  I thought it showed the provider was very organized. And if gave me a convenient reminder 15 minutes before the appointment.

But your note raises an interesting issue. One can remember to delete all of the email or texts off of one's phone, but now we need to worry about deleting calendar items too

To be honest I always wondered if P411 is as safe as everyone assumes.   But that is likely a good topic for another thread.

I never liked evite. they seem to respect the privacy of the person sending an invitation but I am less sure about how they treat the person receiving it.

As for Google it is just a bit too intrusive.  Evidence of that invitation could pop up a t lot of times and in ways that neither the sender or recipient intended.

My two cents.  Others probably have opinions of greater value.

I make damn sure Google can't access my contacts, send evites, or anything else that's very likely to pop up unexpectedly. I've seen it happen with Facebook, too, so I have no social media connected to Tabu

seen. Choose wisely.
