It's getting common. Nevada's Cosby Law will probably have unintended consequences too.

Dealing with statute of limitations for rape. Great idea, not very practical. Prosecutors don't like it.

Yesterday, I got into big trouble posting my thoughts on the 911 Survivor Bill.

So I'll just say legisislators ought to take time to think things through. I suspect that by their nature, what makes them good at politics fogs their ability to be good at visualizing how things might go.

So you override the President veto yesterday by passing this bill.

Then today both House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the measure could have unintended consequences -- including the fact that it could leave U.S. soldiers open to retaliation by foreign governments.

I guess the President showed again, why Congress are fools!

Just blame Obama for everything.  That is what they have been doing for almost 8 years.  They probably blame him when they get a mosquito bite, or indigestion, why not blame him for this?  After all this is an error of their own doing, how could THEY be responsible for that?

Be serious and get with the program

I've been thinking. Maybe we could get more for our taxpayer bucks if we outsourced the job of making laws to Taiwan. There, a group of people could get together and for pennies on the dollar they could decide on what laws were needed and pass them lickity split.

Right now we pay our Congressmen and Congresswomen $174,000 a year. I bet we could get Taiwanese Congressmen for about $30 a week.

And we wouldn't have to have all these useless elections that cost our states plenty but turn out giving us representatives that hardly anybody likes.

The same goes for Senators. The Taiwanese Senators, cheaper by far, would show up for work every day, take fewer and shorter vacations, and make far more logical decisions because they would be less emotionally invested and hopefully not exposed to all the pressure of dealing with lobbyists and dialing for campaign dollars all day long.

Just a thought during a moment of blissful morning euphoria.

than the President. Congress is faceless.  It's much easier to disapprove of a large body than to turn on one person.

Let's face it. President Obama's high approval rating has very little if anything to do with his job performance.  It's all about his personality.  His fans love him no matter what he does as President.  He's full of personality, has a great smile and is very likable.

In fact, most of his "appovers" probably have no clue what he has done as President.

We live in a world where popularity contests rule.  Where the Presidential election more resembles American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
