It was a good read, and makes sense.

For references you can read page 239-240. Same reasons why have seen posted on this forum over and over. I saw some references about younger men too on those pages. Thanks for the post. Good read.

Really interesting read.  Nuggets like "pimps" don't encourage hard drug use, and sometimes dislike marijuana use because it makes their workers slow.  One is quoted, "It'll get you fired just like McDonalds".

Serious academic report.

trafficking and exploitation. Says that researching independents was just too hard due to providers' security procedures! The report likely will be used to tar everyone with the same brush, as usual.

I read the report when it first came out last year.  Melissa Gira Grant thought it was just nonsense, ignored reality, etc. and she was on the radio and in op-eds to make sure that everyone knew what she thought.

Dani, I would make one correction to you remarks, it doesn't focus on trafficking and exploitation, the report is entirely about trafficking and exploitation and pimping.

It was commissioned by the Justice Department and trafficking and exploitation was the only thing in which they were interested.  I would be interested in reading a study of the women on TER but, the Justice Department probably isn't interested enough in freelancers to make a grant.  After all, except for the Mann Act, I am not aware of a federal law against prostitution.

It did just touch on the higher end of the business, and what little it did talk about was still interesting.  I thought the part about girls seeking out the business fitting with how aggressive young girls are these days.  I was also wondering why the increase in violence from decades past..or is it just being reported now.

tied to a rosy forecast of taxable income that states could collect if they legalized and regulated it. (In this fantasy, I get to formulate HOW it will be regulated.

The main reason providers don't see AA men has little to do with race, in general.  It's a management decision about keeping girls.  It makes sense, all about the money/business.
