I use CL, in fact I met one of my favorite indy girls on CL a couple of years ago.
I always look for a second confirmation on any lady advertising on CL. A personal web site, a TER review, a listing on any other local board etc. What you want to avoid are the ladies who post every fifteen minutes all day long. A gal who is looking for legitimate business may run a listing once a day or so and then spend the rest of her time seeing clients. The too-frequent posters are usually pimps or ladies with no business.  At some point you have to ask yourself why they have time to post on CL every fifteen minutes all day long.

I was wondering what you look for to determine if a CL ad is legit or at least worth risking. I have purposely avoided CL in my hobbying career and understand the risks involved, but I noticed a nice local ad and it would be nice to find a girl at a rate less than 300/hr. The hobby gets expensive at that price. I may be smart and drop the idea altogether, but wanted to know if those of you who use CL had any pointers on how to determine risk when using the site. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, I am a newbie to TER. I started in this biz in June. yes..On CL. I know the risks involved but so far have been successful in meeting quality genuine people from there. I have a friend who is an ex-escort, who coached me in what, where, when, how, and who. I have guidelines I ask for, and if they cannot provide that, I cannot provide for them.
Risk...is a sure thing. If its too easy, it's not worth the risk. Thats the way I see it. The fees that I charge are not only for my company, but for my travel time as well. I don't have any reviews here as of yet, but hopefully soon, you can see that I am worth my weight in gold.
Be careful out there...and hope to see some of you soon. :)

CL is in some areas full of web/cam ads,and links etc.So yes it can be hard to determine if your finding a real ad with a real woman .As the site is receiving lots of media attention this has exposed it to law inforcement posting as providers.
I too started on CL Oct 2006 in Austin and I have meet some wonderful hobbyists, they were pros and could tell I was the new gal.But due to the above risks I no longer post on CL but will respond to a hobbyist who states his need.Especially visiting in a nice hotel on business. Its my civil duty.LOL..

The problem is that so do a lot of LE.

If you are worried about LE (and who isn't?) then make sure the provider you find also has some reviews on TER by members with at least a few reviews each.

This should go a long way towards reducing risk.

Also, keep up with your local boards (and your local newspaper's crime beat) to see if the local LE is busting providers who use CL.

If you are fortunate to live in a quiet area, then that would be a plus for CL.

On the other hand, if there has been a lot of LE activity in this area, play it cool.

I have not found any dearth of providers under $300/hr, so do some research.

Consider just the monetary inconvenience of just one bust, and the higher cost will seem like a bargain.

Well I found a posting for an attractive girl, only one post all week and said to simply call or email for rates and offered incall or outcall. The ad, however doesn't list a phone number or email address, only leaving the CL listing email address as a contact. It seems legit, but haven't built up the courage to give it a go. I did send her a message to see if she has a website, reviews, anything. Haven't heard back yet though.

For what it's worth the lady I mentioned had no contact info other than the CL email either.  She did send me a link to her website after our initial contact and later her phone number. Sometimes it takes a day or two to hear back if they are busy. In any event, the ones who are after the quick bait and switch or scam money will always have phone numbers as they are always anxious to rip you off as quickly as possible.

I usually posted on CL every 4-6 days. I have limited time, and with the regulars I HAVE built up, I have very little time to continue to post every day. I accomplished what I needed to accomplish. My regulars are very happy, and I am very happy. Now was the right time to move my business to TER. I just needed a little push in the right direction. (IM STILL NEW HERE!!) lol

I started on CL and had no idea how it worked or that it was a bad location for me to list on. I had my first review from someone I met on there and a few more followed. Yes, I was a lucky newbie not to have problems but now that I am a little more seasoned i'm back on CL. I did pull  any content, with me associated with it off for some time. I look at the new reviews daily and many come from CL, some good some bad. Always check the reviewer first to see where he's come from and Wow, he's never reviewed before. Then when I see the review and it's someone from CL and this is  their first review I just wonder?? Anyway now i'm not as much the new kid on the block anymore and see quite a few first timers. Always brings a smile to my face when they ask for pointers. My first reply is learn to read the reviews and read them often. Listen to that little voice inside you that says somethings not right. But most of all don't let Mr. Happy do the thinking for you. I hope we all stay safe  Kisses  Haley

Feedback on this please.

I replied recently to three ads on CL. You don't have to tell me thta I shouldn't have. I know this now. I did so just as I became a TER VIP and have learned so much since—and this was only a couple of weeks ago. Really glad TER exists, and the members and providers, of course, who are very helpful.

Anywya, two were from young women saying that they were new at providing. The third indicated that she was a provider, but young as well (all over 18).

I explained that I was a man, 50ish, not violent, etc., just looking for some company.

Heard not a thing back from the first two, the third wrote back asking where I lived. I said "Downtown." Never heard bck.

I am a little nervous now that these may have been LE-posted. No way to tell of course. I did give an e-address that is anonymous (i/e/. not real name).  Of course I haven't DONE anything, but I'm nervous about being a victime of Big Brother.

Does LE have the legal right to trace me through my ISP? Would they bother? Does LE have the legal right/capacity to monitor Web addresses?

Any feedback welcome.

Firstly...if they want to bust you they will make it EASY for you.
Secondly...They DO have that right, but have you said anything worth implicating?
Thirdly...All the ads on CL I have answered, If the response was not to their liking, they were welcome to look elsewhere. Instead they wanted to barter with me. When they are too agreeable, or they want to barter to get you to implicate yourself, More than likely they are LE.
No LE is going to give you their real name or home address. That is something to look for also. Cross reference!!
xoxo
