Tony Schwartz, Trump's co-writer of "The Art of the Deal, says Trump has a short attention span which has left him with "a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.” He said, “That’s why he so prefers TV as his first news source—information comes in easily digestible sound bites."

Remember when Trump said he gets his military advice from TV shows?

At least Palin lied and said she read several newspapers.  Trump admits to getting informed by watching TV.  He probably gets his information from TV at the same time he's scarfing down his fast food.

Trump will not serve the full term.  My guess is that he will grow very tired of the Presidency and resign from office well before his term is up.  One reason is that he will absolutely hate all the bureaucracy.  Another is that it seems he only talks about himself and as president he will need to talk about others way more than he would like.  Pretty simplistic but my gut tells me that he will hate the job.

i say no. he want's the power and attention. his ego won't let him quit. he will let pence run the show.

"Donald Jr. explained that his father's vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy. Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of? "Making America great again" was the casual reply."

bringing it up again. Many of us felt that he really has no interest in exercising the office of president, that's why he offered to let Kasich do it as his Vice President. He just wants to win the office of the presidency, and be crowned king. ;)

...Trump may have some success at business (often by theft) but he doe's NOT demonstrate the behavior of a successful person. He is not even close to someone that should be POTUS!

Trump has committed several criminal acts. The latest might regard his ties with the New Jersey bomber Rahami. Trump claims he saw the planting of bombs ahead of time, and is now using this to further his political ambitions. He was obligated to disclose any and all foreknowledge to the authorities, but since that would not further the goals of his campaign, he kept the information to himself, putting police officers and private citizens at risk. As an accomplice before the commission of a crime, Trump committed a felony and possibly an act of treason. That should bar him from actually taking office.

How else can you explain why so many Republicsns, even reasonable ones like Paul Ryan, support Trump's candidacy?  I think they're counting on one of the following, should Trump win:

- He lets Pence do all the work (as noted above).
- He loses an impeachment trial, and Pence takes over.
- He dies while in office (natural causes or other), and Pence takes over.

In any case, someone who's much more palatable to mainstream Republicans is in the Oval Office.

As for the Republicans not supporting Trump, they figure Hillary will be Prez at most 4 years, and they can stonewall her initiatives just like they did Obama's until they can regroup for 2020.
