or at least my business contacts in Beijing say that:
1) yes, some actresses and performers look for outside work or sugar daddies. But they are usually much earlier in their career or less successful
2) this particular accusation is very political, because the people she is supposed to have hooked up with are currently on bad terms with the government
3) though not impossible, they think it to be less likely to be true because she's making $5 million per film and also during this time, she was engaged to a billionaire.
Fortunately for me I'm in China one more week, and there are many, many beautiful Chinese women who can be had for less.

The Chinese actress from 'Memoirs of a Geisha" is being investigated for prostitution. Actresses moonlighting as providers is not a new thing, but the kicker is that she is alleged to have been raking up over $110 million US in 3-4 years. Assuming it was one client a day, that is around $100K a night. And that is in China, a country where prostitution is at every corner, literally. Talk about premium rates. Kudos to her for making that much.
