I wish I would've seen Chuck Berry even once. Now Willie Nelson isn't doing so well and I never did see him either:(

I know someone who saw Muddy Waters with Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton and all I could think of was Heaven.

They revived Chuck Berry's career. Same with Muddy Waters, who was painting houses when they found him and brought him to the attention of a new generation.

Chuck Berry was incredible in so many ways. Besides being a great guitarist and lyricist, he was also extraordinarily athletic. His splits and duck walk while playing took a lot of strength and agility.

He was a difficult man to work with, but he always put on a good show. I saw him three or four times and was never disappointed.

I just wish he hadn't been so bitter later in his life, although he certainly had reason to be.

Passed this weekend at the age of 90. Married to the same woman for 68 years. So many great songs and memories. word is that e left a letter to his wif that he had just finished a yet to be released album and now he could hang up his  shoes. Sure hope that's true.

Cold Friday night in Auburn and we waited outside for hours to see the Stones. To our absolute surprise and delight Chuck opened the show (along with Ike & Tina Turner). He put on one of the best performances  I have ever seen, he was joyous and his joy was infectious. After him the Stones were a bit of a letdown, they were great - but Chuck was supreme that night. RIP Mr. Berry, you brought us a great deal of pleasure.

There's a great video on youtube of the Stones joining Muddy Waters on stage at a small club in a rendition of Manish Boy.

I hate it when Jagger tries to sound black.

That's too funny! I believe Etta James was there also.

I'm a huge Stones fan, and have seen them at least once on every tour since 1972, but sometimes they bug me. Like when Jagger tries to sound black. It was embarrassing to watch him with Muddy Waters. He also tried to do some jive talking on "Miss You" and sounded ridiculous.

He has a great voice for rock and blues. He should just stick with it and admit to himself that, lips aside, he's white.

Back to Chuck Berry, there's some great scenes in "Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" where Chuck Berry and Keith Richards are at each others' throats. Chuck Berry was being an ass just for the sake of being an ass, and Keith Richards had to just take it. Richards has had enormous respect for Chuck Berry as a musician, but despises him as a human being.

That vid with stones and muddy was buddy guy's old checkerboard lounge in Chicago.  You can buy the whole thing on Amazon.  As I recall, it also had junior wells, and they all are in stage at least once.  It's definitely a fantastic thing to watch

Chuck Berry got lots of pussy. There were several videos of him that surfaced having sex with two or three girls at once.
