Hopefully a bust can be avoided. Any seeds of wisdom from the TER family on this topic?

and discarded donut boxes.

For the most part you’re not going to find LE working a hobbyist sting out of a home, an apartment complex or a five star hotel. Most stings use Craigslist because the ad is free and it goes up (and comes down) in real time. I’ve never heard of a LE sting decoy screening their potential victims which makes the common Craigslist protocol demographic an easy bird to catch.

I’m sure there are other scenarios LE can play; but busting internet hobbyists is VERY low priority, and therefore little time or money is allocated for more intricate tactics.

1.  A new provider in town with no reviews, usually on Craig's List, and looking "too good to be true".

2.  A provider that does not care to verify you in any way.

3.  A provider that talks about money and sex acts either on line or on the phone.

4.  A provider who wants you to come to an outcall at a shabby hotel in a bad part of town.

5.  Lots of Ford Crown Vics parked around the area.

6. AMP's

It's not necessarily that case that any of these by themselves or even in tandem mean an LE sting, but if you want to reduce your odds, avoid these situations, numbers 2&3 are the riskiest ones.

MrFish and Tongue are right.  Always go for a well reviewed provider and try to stay away from CL.  I know CL is tempting, but my spidey sense always goes off when I look on that site. I tried it once and NEVER again. Oh by the way if the provider opens the door with donut crumbs on her mouth and 2 way radio in her ear, walk away!!!!

As everyone stated above - if you stick with a lady with reviews on TER - you are safe to go and why would you go anywhere else! I saw a lady tonight and she is working out of her home because the hotels are getting somewhat suspicious of her and she doesn't like the drama there - thin walls! Anyway - we got to talking and CL seems to be the place for sting operations these days! So why go to place that is unsafe! I even worry about the local AMP locations because we have had five shut down recently! The price may be good - but ... just not going there!

I am a newbie and am getting ready to schedule my first appointment with a provider. I have a question regarding the reviews on TER though.  How do we know that the good reviews aren't all part of the LE operation?  I'm thinking that if one of us would get busted, we would then post this on TER so everyone would know?  Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.. -  Dave

See "WHO" reviewed her, and "how many" reviews do they have.

Checking the review history of the reviewer not only protects you from your LE worries; it also safe guards you from providers with only a couple of reviews that were possibly written by  pimp(s), agency(s), or boy friend(s).

It is actually very impractical for LE to use the review process for their stings on hobbyists.
The review process is time consuming in both the writing and submission of the review as well as TER's approval process. After an hour or more spent on writing the review, then submitting it, then waiting up to three days for it to post (IF the cop did it correctly) their ruse would be all over the regional board(s) ten minutes after the first collar was made.
Craigslist ads go up in "real time" and have none of the built in safeguards as you find in TER's system.
