I know there are many reasons someone would support Hillary Clinton over Trump or Trump vs Hillary but if you are a hobbyist a vote for Clinton is a vote against being in this hobby.
Why?
Because feminists, like Evangelical Christians, seem to hate sex and feminists of Hillary Clinton's ilk view prostitution as slavery even if done by women of their own free will as independents.
Feminists and Evangelicals have a history of cracking down on porn and prostitution and we may see a Hillary Clinton try and "triangulate" and attack the hobby and online porn as a way to placate the left and right.
Trump can be said to be the lesser evil but his running mate is a full on Evangelical so there is a chance he may do the same as Hillary would as president. At best Trump would keep things business as usual for this hobby.
The best vote one can do is to vote for a Libertarian party but that party's candidate is seen as somewhat of a joke and maybe just a Republican sponsored by the never Trump wing of the GOP running as a fake libertarian to steal away votes from Trump.
So based on preserving this hobby as a criteria Hillary is the worst candidate you can support, Trump is a little better (his VP choice makes it a gamble) and Libertarian is best for a hobbyist.
To me it is just foolish to support Hillary Clinton and be into this hobby.

It is illegal in most of the USA due to a Puritan strain of Protestantism. What is funny is feminists seem to overlap with the extreme religious right on sex in many areas except gay rights.
In any case if you value the hobby Clinton is a choice against your hobby. Just a consideration I felt no one was bringing up.
They have more than enough to deal with already and will leave it to the states and municipalities. IOW, everything will remain the same.
As far as I know there aren't even any federal laws on the books prohibiting prostitution. Although I believe there are some human trafficking laws that are now being used to target fully consenting adults with the backing of the feds, This of course has happened during a DEMOCRATIC administration. I do have to believe that "human trafficking" would have higher priority under a Clinton administration than Trump. So perhaps there is something to this after all?

The Mann Act is NOT a federal law designed to outlaw prostitution although it is being "bent" to do so. You correctly stated that prostitution is prosecuted at the state and local level.
There is a big difference between the Catholic Church and the Fundimentalist Evengelical Community we have in the US. One will absolve sinners for straying from the path, the other will condem them to burn in hell!
I favor Clinton, but your argument as to why hobbyists would be voting against their own best interests is actually pretty sound. The portrait of the Clinton type of Feminist might be accurate. Laissez faire might prevail with that attitude, as long as there are no great trafficking scandals cooking somewhere. That would force either choice to crack down for awhile, at least until whatever the stink's about blows over.
Trump could screw things up to the point that we'll flip into emergency mode and forget about whoring around for awhile. But, of course, if Depression is the Big Screw Up resulting from his crackpot schemes, the hobby might flourish into a Golden Age the likes of which we've never seen before and probably won't live to see again.
The down side for me is that I seldom have voted my own pocketbook and probably won't start now.

I was watching Fusion cable channel and it devotes hours to documentaries about trafficked women and in these documentaries they represent all kinds of prostitution as exploiting women - even consensual prostitution that we defend here (we are all against trafficking). Documentaries advocating jailing johns and re-educations.
