Remember Bradley (now "Chelsea") Manning, who leaked government files while in the military and was sentenced to 35 years in prison? Now she's won the "right" to have gender reassignment surgery and become the woman she was meant to be. Courtesy of us taxpayers, it seems.
OK, I'm all for transgender rights. But why does a convicted spy get to have surgery on the government's (our) dime? I'm baffled.

...Manning was given permission to proceed with the procedure. Nothing was said about who will pay for it. If you don't like it, you can always vote for Trump. After all, he has vowed to "Make America Straight Again."

Chelsea thought she was a whistleblower...still debatable, but if that stated motivation sheds any light on the real reason for her crime, why deny her the operation? Just to make life hell for her? Come on...
She's already got a comfy secluded place to hole up during recovery, so no extra expense to that. And I bet any warden can wrangle a decent price with the surgeon and insurance company. Although the military might be responsible for that, at least the clerical stuff.
I just hope all goes well for her. At least it'll get her the right cell block and normal treatment while in prison
