The reason I bring this up is because once a cop gets your phone, they can see everywhere you've been.  So, any time I've had an escort over to my house, chances are her phone shows she's been there, as well as what time and when.  They're using the hotel cameras in conjunction with data on seized phones to get license plate numbers.  I hope this information helps?  Stay safe out there.

Just curious. How was a video camera set up in the apartment to record things going on? I can understand videos of coming and going in the parking lot. Maybe this has been covered, but missed it.

There is not such right.. there is no "right to privacy"

There is an implied "right to privacy" but it only applies in certain circumstances. I'd expect if they really did have a camera inside it was done with the permission and assistance of the building owners. That still provides some constitutional questions assuming a lease was in place, I'd think, but I'm no lawyer.

Basically you have a certain right to privacy in your own house. You do NOT have a right to privacy in someone else's, which is what an apartment leased by someone else is. The leaseholder might have a different say. I expect the attorneys may have some fun with this.

It is true that the implied right to privacy has been gradually shrinking to the point that, now, if you throw something in your trash and set it by the curb for pickup, it's legal for LE to go through it without a warrant. You threw it out and put it outside your house so it's essentially in a "public place" for access by the public (or private contracted for public interest) utility.

Wanna bet? Come peeping in my window and I'll test that theory..LOL

Probably, an actual bust may have been made prior to 12/29 and a deal may
have been struck to bring in a cam??

As Sgt Schultz would say " I know nothink, nothink"

I'm sure AM probably knows a thing or two....

If you have a smart phone you have zero right to privacy.  It's why Google just paid $1.3 billion for Waze, FaceBook paid $1 billion for Instagram, and Microsoft bought Skype for $8.5 billion.  Snap, which owns Snap Chat, is going public right now for $20 billion and they only have $59 million in revenues.  Google "Big Data" and you'll see all of the apps on your smart phone track everywhere you go, everything you buy online, what websites you go to, and what other apps you use.  Uber, the Weather Channel's app, Facebook and the rest seel your data to marketers who want to know more about you.  If you have an iPhone, go to the settings tab and scroll down to the bottom where there is a list of every app you have on your phone.  Open the settings for each app and the first setting should be "Location."  Make sure it is set to "Never" or "While Using the App."  If you set it to while using the app, make sure you close the app completely after using it.

I guess throwing out all of the numbers gives away my my identity, if we've been in bed together.  You're never going to be 100% protected from being tracked, but if I can help everyone be a little more cautious, I'm happy to do it.

So by that same logic, if a drug addict comes into your house then you too are using drugs? There is NO law against an escort coming into your home, hotel room, automobile, etc. There is a law against paying someone for sexual favors.
So what if she was in your home on a certain day at a certain time? Proves nothing but the fact that her phone was in your home on a certain day at a certain time.........

I'm not here to argue, or debate constitutional law.  I'm only trying to help by giving everyone some ways to protect themselves.  The cops don't care!  They will harass you and intimidate you if they're doing an investigation.  Do you remember back in 2005/2006 when Lisa and Nicole got busted in Sugarloaf?  They had a real nice place in that million dollar subdivision and I have many hours of great memories. You know what else?  They also had a shitload of numbers and emails in their phones and computers.  I can talk about it now, because LE can't do shit after five years on a misdemeanor like this in GA.  Anyway, the email they had for me was my office, so I had cops in and out of my office for months.  Those ladies made a deal and anted up their phone records, which had my number on there about 20 times.  I refused to talk to the cops, which is my right, and, after a few months, they said I either had to talk to them or they were getting a warrant from a judge.  I got a lawyer and the retainer was $5k.  By the time it was said and done I spent $15k on legal bills.  I never got arrested or indicted, so I guess it was worth it?  If I had been arrested it probably would have cost me less.

I just thought I'd give everyone some thoughts on how to protect themselves, since it's a pain in the ass being caught up in an investigation.
