Saturday morning musings on connections and the nature of reality

I was doing a little idle time grazing through some Texas boards and came across a few unfamiliar acronyms, such as SB (still don’t know.)  However, one that puzzled me a lot was IOP – couldn’t imagine any phrase that fit.  In context it was usually something like “she had good IOP.”  After a bit of research, found some threads – it stands for “Illusion of Passion.”  There was some discussion in threads as to whether it was synonymous with GFE, with vigorous defenders of both views.  In my experience with TER, GFE has two defiinitions:  First is that the lady has the ability to make you feel that your relationship is real as it would be with a girlfriend – personal interaction, making out, etc., as opposed to purely mechanical sex acts.  The second definition is a boundary on the acts the lady is willing to perform, although the exact boundary in the definition is unclear.  There have been multiple threads on that.

Passion is a bit different – physical responses, vocalizations, expressions – all part of it.  Despite When Harry Met Sally, I think most guys think they can tell real from fake: hard to fake stiff nipples and juicy nether regions.  However, we’re just guys and, by definition, not very bright when the little head takes over.  So, I found the use of “Illusion” really intriguing.  Reminded me of an ad I saw for resale Aston Martins: showed a gorgeous girl in a just a man’s unbuttoned dress shirt with the text – “You know you aren’t the first ……. But do you really care?”  Parallel for Illusion of Passion – if I can’t tell if it’s real or faked …… do I really care?  An interesting concept, and one I hadn’t encountered here.

Personally, I believe most of the ladies I’ve seen, especially those seen more than once, do a good job of getting very much into the moment.  To be successful as an escort, I think you must have a high libido.  Like everyone else, though, there are good days and not-so-good days, and I think the real pros can mask the differences very well.  And of the highly ranked ladies I’ve seen, every one of them has had off-the-charts IOP.

So my question is this: is the IOP concept just another way of saying what the Performance Rating captures or is it a good shorthand to include in the Details section of a review as an additional dimension

Good read, and very good concepts, spinnaker!  Who doesn't enjoy pondering reality now and then.  In our busy, rush around, hamster wheel lives it is good to stop and take moments to ground ourselves for a while.

For your penultimate question at the end, I personally think that the IOP factor separates the 8 from the 9 and 10.  The lady can go the extra mile with the mechanical acts, but will that alone make you forget it was a service?  So, for me the 9 and 10 performance scores do incorporate the IOP...and wow, do I love that.  Even if it is an illusion, it is reality of the moment.  And that is what we seek, sometimes, when we book those hour or more sessions.  It is no different than the reality of entertainment in the theater....well, there are some big differences, but the same concept of reality of the moment is there.

Of course, sometimes we're going for just the mechanical acts alone, which can be an altogether different sort of reality, and a different sort of passion for that matter.

So, I believe that IOP can be captured in the scores and certainly expressed in the details, all relative to what the reviewer is seeking in his (or her) session.

Again, good reading.  Made me think back on some of my high score sessions, and who doesn't enjoy doing that!

Happy New Year everyone!

I think Atlanta lady's have a very high IOP.  Bless our Atlanta ladies!

It's wonderful when the lady I am with appears to be enjoying herself.   I have decided that whether or not she really is into me (Lord, I hope not!) or into the sex (not likely... ) or just a really good actor - it doesn't matter.

I can't separate it from the "performance" rating.  To me, the difference between a  truly mind blowing BJ, for example, and a good one is not physical - it's the commitment, the set up - it's the flourishes.  It is the acting.

Bad acting - is just presenting and "acting out" - it is faking and it comes across that way. It really turns me off.   Good acting which gives the audience the illusion of believability (or passion..) requires that the actor own and commit to the part.  And good acting will keep me coming back - even if I know it's an act.  I keep going to see movies and plays... and I know they aren't "real" either.

My theory is that the best providers "feel it" and own it when they are in character.   And like good actresses, they are perfectly capable of feeling it with the next guy.  And when they are off the clock - that goes away...

I really very much appreciate the craft involved.  You girls rock!

Check out the Erotic Highway board for more info on SBs.
