Well, the small donors may not see it, but the large ones will. And, I don't think they will be very motivated to donate after learning of his scheme. ;)

It's difficult to get people to be enthused to give to your election campaign if they come to believe it may just go into your pocket (personal or business account).

According to the article, he's also shorting the general fund.

I don't know about the legality. If a small-town politician worked his campaign out of his garage, what laws would govern how he declared that "expense?"

Maybe BBS will chime in.

Just a savvy business man, or a crook stealing the money you've donated to his campaign, to be president, and using it for his own personal gain? ;)
