My guess is that the Dupont area would attract guys willing to spend more that at Tyson's or Crystal City. Just a guess.

Is Dupont area still good? How about the Arlington area? I prefer to stay in the city as it gives me stuff to do during that day.
Thanks!

Although you did not mention Tysons, I'll weigh on that possibility. From a guy's perspective I think you have two different client bases in Tysons and in DC. Both are work centers and with traffic it is difficult for people in one area to get to the other. If you have 4 days I would schedule 2 in both. Some of us like me are energetic don't have to go home to a wife and kids and will brave the traffic, but there have been a few times where I have been late. I recall having a bad experience because I paid full price for a 30 minute meeting once. Had I know the young lady was going to cut it short I would have just canceled. Save yourself heartburn and give yourself the chance to see a wider client base and schedule time in both.

Arlington is a middle ground, but I have not seen many ladies do it. Not sure why. I would imagine hotels are cheaper in Arlington than DC and guys could get there relatively easy.

In your opinion which area is more lucrative? I'm on the higher end spectrum, business professionals are more my thing. What is the difference in clientele between DC and Tysons? xx

They are both lucrative. You have more traditional business in Tysons. It is a big IT center. In DC you have tons of lobbyists and they have big bucks too. That's why I recommend dividing the trip.

...where there's money in the city/downtown and the suburbs.
Split time in DC and Tysons  ...  or NoVA suburb super close to DC like Arlington and also split time in Tysons to maximize the potential of your trip.

I mean for example when I visit Chicago I always split time in downtown and one of their many suburb spots. There will always be guys who don't want to dive into the suburbs and guys who don't want to deal with downtown...that's the difference.

I always have the train of thought that guys would drive from Tyson's to DC as it's not that far and always think that it's the same clientele. But now I see why some guys wouldn't trek to DC after work.

types of hobbyists here.  One group are urban, go into the city most days & are comfortable using Metro to get around; for them Dupont Circle is relatively easy, plus it's convenient for travelling businessmen staying in the city.  The other group are mostly suburbanites, rarely go into the city, never get out of their cars, never ride metro, hate going into the city due to traffic & parking; for them Tysons is much preferred, right on the Beltway & I-66, lots of hotels with free parking.  That's why a lot of visiting providers divide their visit into a couple of days in each place.
