It was a crapshoot

Unless you had some friends that could share word of mouth information there wasn't any.  Everything that you would consider a bad provider was more common - things like bait and switch, grab cash and run, Upsell and even outright robbery.  The amazing sessions were few and far between so when you found a good one you went back regularly.

The Yellow Pages and local papers were really the only source of information.  I think I tried this world about three or four times and only one was even decent so gave up on it until sites like this made it a lot more fun

You know, the side thread below between foguete, gambler and Amber got me wondering how things were before TER.  How did everyone "commune" and share info?  Was it just very frequent visits, old style m&g's, old-timey online bulletin boards (dialup, pre-html type)?  Was reviews just word-of-mouth?  I know I did a lot of AMP's via Creative Loafing, but did so without any review resources.  I wonder how everyone got to know each other and develop the "comradere" that TER seems to facilitate so well today.

It's fun to think about the old days, reminiscing if you will, especially when things are so easier for us in our present days.

"Sonny, in my day I had to ***** in order to get some hot, intimate fun."     Lol!!   😁

Ads in the sports section, also creative loafing. When you found a reliable agency it was amazing and you stuck with them.

Back in the day smoke shops that had the back room with sex toys had  pamphlets that had adds . Most Adds were outcalls .one weekend my wife and I were in a motel and looking at one of these adds . To my surprise she offered me a threesome . Call a lady up but she never showed . Called another lady and she never showed. Wife got  aggravated and backed out . Oh well the thought of it all led to a fun night for her and I .

Twenty years ago when I first began my journey into this world I looked to the yellow pages.. Actually got lucky with an Agency I found there.  But in fact it was usually hit or miss.  These days you're pretty much guaranteed a good experience if you do your researc

A Aardvark agency?
I think I used that one a time or two in my travels. Lol

Then one day I met a Beautiful Brazilian girl who told me she was having a tough time because she had no "Reviews" ... I had no  Idea there were such things. I went home a researched review sites and a whole new world opened up to me.I got that "Kid in a Candy Shop" syndrome and went Nuckin Futs for a while. At first I really irritated a few with too many posts .  Then I stepped back and realized if I wanted to be accepted that I would best serve the bard by accepting the face that I was the "FNG' (fucking new guy)for those too young to recognize the acronym  and it was my job to take a few for the team.I wrote what I thought were accurate impartial reviews and eventually  gained credibility. Now I'm old and many of my early friends are gone. I'm still hanging in there and having a lot of fun. I have seen this board at it's best when there would be 4 or 5 pages of post in a day and at it's worst when the trolls took over for a while. I feel  it is in a resurgence. I see more civility and humor returning to the posts and I'm damn happy to see it.  The M&G are getting more popular and the women are getting Hotter.    PS. I neither read the book or saw the movie "50 Shades" but ever seance it came out I have noticed that us old guys  are a lot more popular with the young ladies, especially the kinkier ones so I plan to stick arround and ride this wave fir as long as I can          Ladies :What's your favorite shade?

At least that's what I think it was called.
It was a monthly national paper that seemed to be somewhat of a precursor to TER.
Contained Escort  ads and reviews . It broke things down by state. Even had articles about the sex trade and individual Providers.

Not particularly reliable but better than the ads found in various " City Papers" and definitely better than the Yellow Pages.

a long time back. Effie's I think.  Every local from Athens to Braselton, Dacula to Winder, Commerce to Monroe knew of what was to be had there.  I dare say many a young man got
his first nut there.

Many years later there was this strip club called the ripcord and many of the young ladies were available for takeout or parties or whatever you want to call it.

Point is there has been variations of hobbying as long as Ive been around and I suspect a long time before.  People talk its just that the internet connects us quicker and farther then every before.
Risk is much less and quality of product is celebrated.

Hows that sonny?

Aside from the AMPs, I used to frequent an apartment at the Roswell Road/285 intersection where a girl ran a mini-agency with several hotties there to choose from when you showed up.  No preview pics or reviews, just pot-luck.  Think the madam's name was Rene or something like that.  Found her in creative loafing.

But there weren't any message boards or bulletin boards to banter on back and forth like here, where you can get to know others, etc.

And back then,  there was no reviews, and really no one to ask for a reference lol you were on your own

and even then (without the internet) and through the years you managed to get to know, and become and keep friends in this realm.  Good stuff!! 👍

(To paraphrase Mr. Salinger)

You kids have it so easy these days.

Way back in the day before the internet and TER and smartphones and youporn and instant messaging and GPS - things were quite different.  Did I mention youporn?  Gather round and I will tell you a tale of adventure and woe and yearning and lust.  But mainly just being young, dumb, and horny.  Yeah, mainly that.

I used the Creative Loafing "Adult Services" section for my nefarious activities.  It was a thing called a newspaper.  Kids don't know about newspapers these days.  Anyway this paper had no pics of the ladies in question (and many were questionable believe me)... only a description... which often times had no connection with reality.  Whatsoever.  Just a phone number to call and take your chances.

It was like the wild, wild west back then.  Adventure (and disappointment) lurked around every corner.  No where to review or rant - except crying in your beer with your buds.

A boy had to be real horny to even try the p4p route back then.

Yep, we were real heroes back in the day.  Dumb, horny heroes.

The end

Epilogue part 1
I eventually found a couple of regulars that treated me very well and took care of my... uh... needs.  So the story has a happy ending after all.

Epilogue part 2
Happy ending.  Get it?  ;-)
