Article in the Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/district-police-cracking-down-on-prostitutes-advertising-on-internet/2015/02/15/05c074a2-b14f-11e4-886b-c22184f27c35_story.html) about DC MPD cracking down on prostitutes, mostly in Logan/Thomas Circle area.  Sounds like they're concentrating on BP & Craigslist advertisers but going after customers with fake ads on those two sources.  Of course, the recent murder of a lawyer at the Donovan House at Thomas Circle just adds to the attention.  I'd just recommend to stay off BP & Craigslist & stay away from Thomas & Logan Circles, though this kind of publicity will probably move the action somewhere else.  Just be smart & be careful.

The article says that some providers hit the clubs for a while. Does anyone know what clubs?

This is not in reply to Nikki. This is in reply to the OP's type of post, mentioning LE activity, etc.

Posts like these on the boards make the news as well. So I am not sure if they are a help or a harm to us and what we are about in this community. I am not trying to flame the OP, just wondering if maybe we should start to backchannel or post these things on the PO and RO boards.

We do not want to continue to draw unnecessary attention if we do not have to. And that article specifically mentions posts on this board. Of course we all know LE looks here but let's try not to draw even more attention for news outlets, etc. We are not as UTR as we once were and I think in the name of fun we forget that.

from informing each other of problems, but yes I did see TER comments quoted in the news.  One thing is for certain, no one should post anything recommending specific hotels or geographic areas.

that may not otherwise be seen, particularly by touring providers based elsewhere.  I thought this was a perhaps a minor service to my colleagues on this board.  I don't know how else I might do this, & fail to see how citing a WAPO article could draw attention.  I'd also like to ask Cheetara if she'd have seen this article or otherwise have learned of its content without this post?
