Providers are able to set their own rates, and if they charge $1000/hour and book enough clients to make them happy, then more power to them, but the laws of supply and demand eventually come into play and as the supply (providers in the market) goes up, the prices typically come down.  As the number of providers falls, prices tend to rise.

Hello TER community!

Ive run my fair share of running specials, especially after analyzing whats in demand in certain states/towns, what is a popular fetish, and what kind of service is most appealed to.

I was curious to know if anyone personally likes when a provider is running a special for the week or in general?

Is it a good way to see her and see how you like her first before making her a regular?
or
Do you feel weird or cautious about a provider who runs specials?

Share your thoughts! I've heard everything from " I prefer to see women who only run specials" or "My budget makes it easier for me to meet them if they are" to " I feel like something may be wrong with her if shes discounting her self like that

I personally love providers that offer specials, or offer a 30 minute sessions.

I love this question and am looking forward to the feedback! I personally run them not because I have to but I figure many clients new and old appreciate it and often will visit more than once during one. This works out well on both sides! 💋Lydia

I think it could establish a "de facto" new rate, with the posted rate becoming the MSRP.  Folks may just wait for the next special, in which case it would build the pressure to offer one.  Obviously I have no direct experience here.  Just the musings arising from an education in economics/business.

Specials are nice.  They say variety is the spice of life.  And I believe everything "they" say.  So I'm a fan.

Whether it's getting extra time or reduced donation (or offer of some "special" experience) it can be the incentive to see someone.  Especially someone new.

A while back I saw a lady that was offering a 90 minute session for her 60 minute donation.  I was on the fence about seeing her and the offer of some free time to get to know her (it was our first date) was motivation to make the date.

I've also seen some ladies that offered a reduced donation that I had been considering (but hadn't taken the time to meet yet).

There were even girls that were offering something new on their menu.  I'm not sure you call that a "special" but it was special to me.  ;-)

Sometimes we gents have girls on our "to do" list that we never get around to doing for one reason or another.  Specials can sweeten the deal and "incentivize" us to pay that new lady a visit.  Or to see an old flame that maybe we have forgotten about.

Either way.  Specials are just...  special.

PS:  But you might not want to change your donations/menu too often or it will confuse us older gents.  Heaven forbid we bring the wrong donation!  Awkward...

Generally folks don't want to pay more for something once they've decided a certain price point is where they are at.

For example, if a guy wasn't sure if he wanted to see you at N rate, but he wants to see you at N minus X rate, well thats fine. But will he see you again once your rate goes up to N? Maybe maybe not. No matter how good it was, he'll feel certain its only worth what he paid the first time around (that's why many of us grandfather in the clients we still want to see after we've raised our rates).

If you need the business, do what you will with your rates. But its a good idea to pick a price that feels good to you and stick with it.

I know there isn't a single monger here on the ATL board who will agree with me, and we all know that I couldn't care less. I'm the one providing for myself now and in the future, not the penny pinchers :D

Best of luck to you!

Specials for existing clients only, via email, are nice.

My guess is that more of us agree with you than not.  You are precisely correct.  Once we have established a rate - it's going to be tough to get me to go up on it.

I guess folks will agree with me that once you get a certain price, why pay more?

But I thought Id get some pushback from folks who are like "BUT SPECIALS ARE GOOD" when we all know that they just mean you are lowering your rates.

Anyway, I just had the best damn time in Atlanta over the weekend and I can't wait to visit again!

I dont agree, I appreciate an intro rate. There is good quality in the ATL at so many price points. Great service will draw repeats. A special might mean a tiebreaker between so many great providers.

I think Torie wins this point

I've been using mostly some of the great agency's here in Atlanta the last year or two( exotics, jfl's, lipsticks) and when it's
time for an encounter I always check the add boards to see if there's a special on to see which way I might make the first call for availabity.

So she runs a special while still being a high end courtesan
Thereby lowering her price point while not lowering her rate

At the end the day she will...

It would be hard for you to get your regular rates again. Im pretty sure clients will say "I saw you for your special rate..can we just stick with that".

Interesting thankfully no one has ever tried to maintain a special rate. In fact many new clients and regulars will thank me for the offer and pay full donation or more regardless. Others just like E appreciate saving a little. I suppose I have been fortunate to see great guys.

I've had the pleasure of meeting true gentlemen, who appreciated the specials that I have offered. They have reciprocated my gesture through their generosity. In my opinion, my position is always to provide an amazing experience at a fair and responsible rate. I can definitely see why Providers may offer specials from time to time to, possibly show gratitude or give an extra incentive.

Several of the ladies have the policy of "Grand-Fathering" you in at a given rate.  I think that this is an awesome ideal considering all of the terrific ladies that Atlanta has to offer.

Personally, I've run specials as an incentive for actions that make my life just a bit more easeful such as booking days ahead of my arrival when I tour a particular city or screening via one of my preferred verification sites. My favorite special to offer is the one for a returning friend! ;)

Anyhoo, some say offering specials attracts cheap or otherwise problematic clients. Theoretically, I see how that makes sense. Thus far, I haven't found that to be the case. In fact one of my absolute faves first booked with me in my home city during a time I was offering special, and I've had the luck of experiencing a few other immensely pleasurable encounters with him even though we live in different cities.

As for dudes who ask me for a special when I'm not offering one or make a habit of haggling with me or other providers, they go right on my DNS list.

We all like "specials" and "discounting". Any one who says different is either a fool or a supplier (definitely not a consumer). As previously mentioned a special can 1) Entice someone to see a new provider that previously was not on their radar or 2) Allow the hobbyist to play a little more often. 3) trigger a "maybe I should play today" response, therefore driving a new opportunity for a provider.

Anyone arguing against using or offering a sale (special) does not live in the real world!

You don't have to start name-calling over this, the issue Torie raised is a good one no matter what stones you want to toss.

No name calling here! Item A is $$$ (Regular rate) or Item A is $$ (minus sales discount). Who is going to say "Oh I want to pay full price for item A" ......  no one that I know that is in their right mind.....

threAD at it's finest is more like it.....

I usually reserve any kind of special for those I already know and adore. I used to do them all the time but the guys that I saw was nothing but the most bang for their buck and milked every ounce of that special could get! I couldn't really offer the experience I do now that's for sure. I am running one now but it is a 4 hrs minimum simply because I love and appreciate the longer rendezvous.
At the end of the day, do what supports you. Don't let anyone ever give you grief over your rate (provider OR hobbyist) whether it be a special or just raising your rate :)

As I continue to saturate myself in this world independently, I try to get as many responses to questions as I can to see what exactly it is that gents here like :]

I offer intro specials for new faces, and have had a few who respected that enough to pay the full price the second time around. Though of course I have run into some who would only see me every time I ran a special for the agency I worked for previously, and never spoke or saw them again once I went independently. Or even worse would see me only when I had a special at the agency, then contacted me numerous times once I went independent, and never made concrete plans. I figured they just preferred the special price they had before. There's nothing I can do about that though.

I run intro specials because I  feel its a good way for them to get to know me, hopefully my playful charm and outgoing personality will win them over. Sadly I can agree with many that some of my reviews aren't exactly top notch due to bad chemistry, and I'm not everyone's cup of tea in Atlanta.

Though it doesn't hurt to offer it

I have a problem with ladies that discount their rate only for new clients. What about the regulars that visit you consistently at least once a month for years? That seems to be a negative incentive for clients to repeat. In the past, I brought this to the attention of a lady who I used to see regularly, only to get kicked to the curb.

To each his/her own....but that marketing approach doesn't work for me.

Have a great weekend all...

It usually enables me to give them a better tip.  I give it to the girl.  Agency girls.     The cheaper provider is often the best or often just as good as the rest.

Specials to me are just like any other form of advertising- they offer you a lower risk way to see if you might like to give something (or in this case, someone), a try. For me, they work-- I've met a couple of  new friends thanks to a special or favorable pricing that I wouldn't have met otherwise. If our meeting is amazing, then I will likely pay a little more for that kind of experience moving forward. I don't look down on it at all; in fact, i view it as good marketing. :)
