It's closed now, but I remember Harold's Barbeque on McDonough Blvd.  An Atlanta original!  Now it seems like everything is the same.

The kind that makes me want to come back the very next day👅

Try Old Hickory House at Northlake.

Dawg Gone Good BBQ on W. Hancock. Total hole-in-the-wall with the BEST of everything. 2die4! I have been known to drive from Philly for it and have it written in my last requests that both their BBQ and Mac& Cheese be served @ my wake. And they are open until 3am Th, Fr & Sa.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it.... I've been eating healthy.... Dying to EAT lol

That question will create ore arguments i the culinary world than any other. Authentic to where- North Carolina, Kansas City, Texas, Korean?  Which traditions within each area?  Georgia does not have a BBQ legacy like these other areas but if you want great BB, there are many places- Fox Bothers, Heirloom BBQ (Korean influenced), Community Q......

My go-to places are Fox Brothers and Heirloom but to each their own.   Have fun trying them all!!

I promise to make you laugh...you know everything is funnier with a Boston accent 😂

Fox Brothers in Little 5 area, the BOMB!

First-time visit I'm not real familiar with all these areas

Another vote for Fox Bros.   It can get very busy for lunch; so go early or late.

Williamson Bros Bar-B-Q is located in Marietta, Canton, and Douglasville. They've been around 23 years and have a selection of authentic sauces that taste awesome. Best Wishes;) -Abla

I just looked them up and they definitely seem like they are worth a try. Thanks for your suggestion.

Hey Lena. It is a great restaurant. I absolutely love authentic food. When you're in town soon, we can probably grab a bite. Best Wishes;) -Abla

Grabbing a bite with you sounds lovely Abla! I'll reach out in the upcoming days.

A little north of Atlanta is Bubba-Q's
you will want to go back
Try the Bubba Peños (Smoked bacon wrapped stuffed with pulled pork jalapeños)

There's a few around.  Originates in Tuscaloosa.  Very good

Located on North Highland just up from Manuels Tavern.

Here is a link to the site. I haven't found any ribs as good as these anywhere

+1 for Fat Matt's on Piedmont. Harold's was good. A k in the day. There is a newer BBQ place on Roswell Road at Wieuca Road.

Lots of good ideas.

My favorites are:

1. Fox Brothers (be sure to try a fried rib appetizer)
2) Community
3) Smoke ring near GA Dome

Best Brunswick Stew, period!
