One might want to remember that a friendship made within the course of the hobby could very easily be one of the most intimate relationships you will ever develop.

Providers often learn more about a gentleman than it takes another member of the community to realize in a lifetime. The sheer edge of honesty that is an upfront aspect of the initial meeting forms a foundation for many to build on. With everything being on the table from the beginning there isn't much that a man can't share with a provider. To many, it is a very refreshing change to have someone who knows all your dirty little secrets and still enjoys being around you.....

Many providers also see the best in everyone because we meet so many different people and hear so many different versions of a life story. Within a short amount of time most providers develop a sense of finding the best in every person... it's a path to survival for many established providers.

The next time you think about taking a break from your normal routine, remember the provider that you are spending time with will probably be in the company of what is more of your genuine self than most people ever see.

checkout the New York board over the past few days!!!

You are meeting real people, who real people care about.  Real, caring friendships, and affections (I'm not saying love, though it has been known to happen on occasion) are possible!  And when one passes, it is noted and mourned.

If you decide to hobby, you are entering a community of some very special people.

RIP to a friend I never had a chance to meet.

But when the chips are down, this group often comes to the rescue.  There have been many times that someone (myself included) has reached out for help or advice, and someone always steps up.

amen. brother (sister) this is as close to family as you can get
Love you all

the biggest surprise i've had is how empathic many of the people in this community are. Definitely some very, very special folks.

I think it's important for newbies to understand that everything about this hobby doesn't have revolve around sex and money. Some of the finest women I have known have been from this hobby and I cherish the time spent and the memories forged with all of them. I know that a few of them honestly see me as a friend and not just a meal ticket. It's always important to keep perspective in this hobby but it's also important to remember that we are all human beings who can treat each other with love, honor and respect.

Many a newb enters this hobby with preconceived ideas and prejudices instilled by erroneous societal stigma, media sensationalism, and foolish naivety.
The hobby can be a microcosmic look at both the very base, as well as the most beautiful aspects of humanity.

You have to understand that in between the fucking and sucking, real life is happening or ending.  Not to make too light of this, but I do believe the person in question would find that amusing.

To me, the fucking and sucking is the real life.

All the rest is filler waiting for that.

As a newbie, I've posted several questions, and the people here have been very helpful in responding.  People here don't seem to be condescending to the newbies, and I have certainly appreciated that. It has made my entrance into the hobby a very enjoyable one.

There are some good people in this community. From the posts I've read on the various boards within TER and from the communications I've had with some hobbyists, I found a lot of support and caring and assistance all around. I've seen people being very generous with advice (to myself and to others). Kudos to all.
