Would appreciate others thoughts on the new Trapeze configuration. Visited there last night and was a bit disappointed with the new layout. When we signed in they offered a tour of the Diamond VIP area and a one-night upgrade for an additional $80, which we declined. In retrospect, we should have at least taken the tour. Would appreciate others perspective.
As a preamble, the hot tubs had malfunctioned the night before, and that area was closed off. That certainly had to have colored our experience.
In the old layout, most of the play space comprised the elevated platforms in the lounge/pool area and the 7 or so open cubicles in the couples only area. All were open to observers and/or folks sharing the space. There were a couple of private rooms. In the new (non-vip) part there is one open bench/bed in the lounge area and six private rooms, two pairs of which are separated by a glass wall, one of which has curtains. We used one of those rooms for almost an hour and left the door open. My lady was continuously orgasmic and very vocal so we attracted some watchers, which is fine with us. However, the other doors seemed to be always closed. Other than one BJ we observed, we saw no sexual activity outside the private rooms. Saw a couple on the open bench/bed watching the porn on the tv. Take away the tv porn and the atmosphere seemed more like a cocktail party with people wearing towels than a hedonistic outing. My lady and I opted for the towel over the shoulder rather than as a wrap, as did a couple of other couples, but modesty seemed to be the rule. A number of the ladies were wearing lingerie plus a towel. I'm not particularly voyeuristic or exhibitionistic, but as any attendee of Ginger's parties can attest, being surrounded by a bunch of nekkid people gettin' it on is a pretty good aphrodisiac. That's the atmosphere that seemed to be lacking to us.
Would appreciate any observations. Maybe it was just a down night because of the hot tub closure. Maybe it's worth the add'l to do the VIP. Don't want to write off going back, but probably wouldn't if last night was typical.

I've never been and would love to attend-hopefully as some handsome gent's arm candy. I've had a friend talking about taking me for months and haven't been yet. =(
I never went to Trapeze before the redesign, but have been 3 times since and every time there has been lots of open action to see. I'm not sure what night you went or what time it was; I've always gone on Saturday which is couples and single females only. It usually doesn't really get going in the back until around 12ish. The last time I went all of the couches and beds in the back non VIP area were actively being used by couples. I saw people going at it in the back bar area and even saw people having sex in the front area around the dance floor. Jesse and I played with a couple in a private room for a bit before playing with another couple out in the open area. Having sex with lots of people watching is so much fun. I have reviews of two of my visits if anyone is interested.

I have been pre-redesign and post-redesign and my thoughts somewhat mirror the original poster. I liked the pre-design set-up much more! There was room to wander to the back pool area and hot tub section, and lounges to sit or play in some comfort. In the current set up, if my recollection is correct, there is limited space (2 larger rooms and 3 or so smaller rooms) usually with the door closed for play! That is mostly it for open space...unless you play at the front or back bar.
To me it seems like the club made a financial decision, that reminds me of the Airlines behaviour, carving out a little more space and charging twice as much. You have to buy a seat in first class (VIP) if you want a little more legroom.
