STD Testing

Just curious if most consider it to be acceptable to ask a provider if she gets tested
on a regular basis.

(Of course she could lie, but does it hurt to ask?)

given the seriousness of the ramifications for not doing so.

Any legit provider will get tested several times per year, many on a monthly basis; and the will be proud and happy to tell you so.

Any provider who is offended by this is someone I would avoid.

By the way, this is not a license to ask other personal questions such as "How many men do you see per day?" or "Do you have a boyfriend/husband?"

Those things are not your business and asking them is a major annoyance to most providers.

I would suggest you get tested regularly if you partake regularly in the hobby... it is not just up to the providers to be safe... you have no idea how often we get asked 'come on, just for a minute?'  Which makes me believe there must be girls out their either stupid enough or who don't care about their lives enough to do it.  If a guy asks me that, I get nervous and don't want to see him again! I would never do BB with any client, it's just as much of a risk for me as it is for them.   If you are doing BB with anyone, girlfriend or otherwise, get tested regularly.  And even if you're not, it can't hurt!

OK..I feel like the dumb newbie I am, but here it goes. I have not been on the dating scene in a long time, so my question is this......can you still catch certain STD's like HIV, Herpes, Syph, Gonna, etc even if the guy uses a Trojan Condom with spermicide during intercourse. And even if guy and gal only do CBJ? What about DFK. Can STD's still be exchanged? Do Dental Dams help?
I know there is textbook fact and then reality fact. I was looking for the reality fact if any of you might know.
I would hate to enjoy one night and then have worries about it for months after.

but the practices you suggest sure place you in the safest part of the curve.

The point of the hobby is to have fun.  If you are constantly worrying about STD's and need to limit your activities to feel safe, then that is what you should do.

Others would find these things too extreme and would not enjoy it, so they are the ones who decide to increase risk somewhat.

The TER Instruction Manual above has many areas where the relative risks of STD'd versus practices are discussed and debated.  The statistics on many of these things are less than fully reliable as collecting the stats is still a work in progress.

I do agree with mrfisher. You mention trojan condoms, I do not think the brand matters when it comes to STD prevention, unless you are using the condoms I make in my basement using melted down rubber bands and tennis balls ~~~~~~some gals tell me the fuzz from the tennis balls does tickle.

Thank You

You're on safe ground for asking sure.  It's a fairly reasonable question.

But if she's seen anyone since her last test the point is moot.

The real question is one you should be asking yourself:  Are you prepared to deal with the consequences of **YOUR** actions should you contract something?

There are no guarantees in the hobby and we as a very high risk group.  You should know this going in and not lull yourself into a fals sense of security by asking the lady if she was tested.  Her being tested will not protect you.

If your answer to the above question was no or you aren't sure, then it's time to rethink your participation in this hobby.
