Trump up 7.5% in the latest LA Times poll after Obama's self congratulation, with Hillary declining continuously during the DNC convention. Of course, even though Obama's speech was full of bull, with an economy with fewer employed Americans, lower wages, and increased crime and a doubled national debt versus when he took office... it really isn't his fault per se.
No, its that both campaigns are using fear as their major tool, but the Democrat Fear is a bad sell.
Dems are marketing fear of fellow Americans. Fear of returning vets as the primary terrorism threat, fear of the NRA, fear of cops, fear of whites, fear of nice college boys as rampant rapists beyond anything seen on the streets of Detroit at 3 am, fear of micro aggressions, fear of having to use a toilet corresponding to your objective biological reality. Oh, and fear of Trump as Hitler.

This is a better sale, because it doesn't exclude any Americans, the ones who vote (unless Dems succeed in allowing illegals to vote). It also has support in the nightly news, whereas the Dem narrative requires fabrications like Hands Up Don't Shoot or the nonexistent rape by a nonexistent frat boy at UVA.
Basically Omar and Syed and the Tsarenevs and Mohamed Atta are real and really shouted Alahu Akbar, whereas Brown never said Hands Up Don't Shoot, and Haven Monahan (fictional UVA rapist) doesn't even exist. This helps Trump considerably. If ISIS and BLM can keep up killing infidels and cops respectively, Trump will win by a LANDSLIDE.
