How does a newbie with no ref's get started, it seems most of the best want ref's

I've been reviewing the discussion boards for several weeks, reading reviews to the point that I couldn't keep names straight anymore,....and decided to finally take the plunge. Being a newbie with no references, I thought it might be difficult to get started, even though I can be easily verified. I posted for advice, got some, as well as a directed email with suggested providers.

I then sent an email to one that was well reviewed, and gave all my contact info. No reply. I tried again a week later. Again, no reply.

So then I tried the agency route. One of the ladies at a particular agency was well reviewed, the others were either not my type or most of them were not reviewed at all. Being a newbie, I knew I should stick to those well reviewed already. I sent a message, got verified, and then set an appointment for last Friday. When I called back that morning, I was then told she was not working that day, but offered another person instead. I declined, and set a new appointment for Tuesday. That morning when I called the same thing happened. So I thought I might be getting the run around, but decided I would try one more time, so set an appointment for today. Called this morning and everything ran smooth. Met a wonderful person -- on the way home I thought more about the interaction with her than the extracurriculars we engaged in.

I'd post a review, but she specifically asked me not to as she wants to be selective as to who she sees and the agency has been getting pushed for her more than she would like. (She told me was interested in seeing me because of my line of work.) And my review wouldn't be anything new beyond her already sterling reviews anyway.

Long post, I know, but thanks for reading. And thank you, unspecified provider, for a wonderful experience.

Just be careful to maintain those boundaries as you find yourself thinking about the personal interaction. Go slow in that direction.

Some of these women are really something, aren't they?

you are absolutely correct and for that reason I will not see this person again for awhile. It just turned out that we share the same background/religion etc (very unusual for the area we live in) and her major in college is related to my current work. So we had much to talk about and she made it all very natural. So as much as I want to rush right back to her, I do know I need to keep perspective.

Be wow its hard!
